    Hi folks!

What is the plastic rivet that's used to hold the plastic bit over the battery called? There are two of them and one has left the building so to speak. I need new ones and are out of luck and my Google-Fu is very weak.

Sorry I don't have the answer but I almost broke one from the other side and thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a few extras.

Check out www.clipsandfasteners.com they have quite a bit of stock and even have the Well Nuts that everyone seems to look for from time to time...

You can get them from Honda. I replace all mine just because one wore out and the others were likely to go soon too. Just go to a Honda dealership and they can look it up on their computers quite easily. I am not sure if you can get a fastener at one of the usual fastener businesses for this purpose as these are fairly specific is size and design. I could be wrong though on that aspect.

I will check my service records and post a part number if I in fact even kept that particular receipt. I may not have though.

Yeah, but won't you have to pay, as they say, through the nose?

I vote amazon, fleabay, aftermarket... Pay through just 1 nostril. You compute the savings, lol. :)

What is your time worth to you? There has to be some value to this. You would likely spend a few hours trying to find a clip that works on Ebay or Amazon or wherever. I don't mind using the net to find something a little less expensive so long as it is equal to or better quality than OEM. I do so for the faring clips. What I found quite easily is far better than the OEM and about 1/5th the cost of those damned Honda faring clips. But I don't think that supplier has a clip for that battery cover.

BTW. This search took me about 20 minutes of my time.
Part #19. $2.95 each. There are two on the battery cover. Replace both whichever way you go.

    Your call.
