Yeoch. Man that guy has luck far worse than me. That is scary. Ribs take forever to heal. At least it is broken and not dislocate. Once dislocated, they dislocate easy and often enough to change your ways. That punctured lung is a concern though.

For gawds sake Jay! Get the kids up the ladder. You and I are too old for this stuff. Heal up fast old man.

Ouch, I wouldn't worry about the lung - you have 2! The lower back is the one that irks you whilst riding.

Best wishes and heal fast Jay! Having damaged my ribs, I can vouch for the pain of sneezing, so stay away from pepper for a bit.

Puts the risks of real life into context doesn't it?

I think we should fill this thread full of hilarious jokes for poor ole Jay. A few good laughs can't hurt and would be good for him.

Have had broken ribs without the puncture, and that was no fun at all.
Take time to heal, your bike will be waiting for the first ride after recovery!

I was just joking with the humour part. I have dislocated a rib I think about 6 times now. I know how it feels. any sneeze, laugh even a chuckle hurt like hell for about 6 weeks, and the discomfort lingered much longer. And the is SFA you can do about it. Come to think about it, it has been several years now since I dislocated that rib. I must be lazing around I guess.

Having bruised my ribs from an off-road crash, sneezing, coughing, laughing or anything involved with the mid section (I think breathing counts too) can be really painful. I remember having a sneezing attack and boy was that not fun! Never punctured a lung though, so hopefully Jay won't have any complications with that.

Och! SOAB *&^%$ thanks guys. fpr the welll wishes, wow go figure when shit happens. actually the orchard ladder i was using, tripod style to get up in the rafters to fix a leak in the roof, the metal frame that holds it in place broke right out from underneath me, 10'-12' foot drop landing on my side . talk about knocked out, freak me out couldn't breath to yell for help, any way i'm sorta on the mend , going back in for xrays today with the lung issue as some blood spitted out this morning while trying not to cough. O F yes, man this hurt.

Crikey Jay That sounds pretty scary stuff.

I wish you a full and quick recovery. If it gets too much - remember its beer or pain relief but not both!

    Take care
