    Afternoon All

I got my first VFR delivered on Friday, 2005 model. So far I am loving it, usually it takes me a while to get used to a new bike but this thing is outstanding from the off!!! Anyway, that's probably enough preaching to the converted so on with the question.

There are some additional blocks under the handlebars, just under an inch tall. Other than that I think they are stock handlebars. I would like to remove the additional risers as I am used to a more sporty position. Am I likely to have any problems just removing them and dropping the bars down? I can't see any evidence that anything was changed when they were installed.

    Many Thanks

    Dave

Can't say I've done that but I would not think there would be any issue at all. When installing mine, I had to stretch the fittings and cables to their limits to get the helli bars in there. I think that an adjustment was made to the idle but that was it. You may encounter the same if you remove the riders.

Welcome to the Forum. BTW. You failed to include a photo of your bike. You are required to remedy that defect immediately. Such negligence may be tolerable in a Yamahahahaha forum but we expect our upper crust to be better role models . I will reduce your penalty to supplying me with an 18 year old single malt scotch instead of the usual 25 year old.

Ignore Randy, we do not allow Canadians even stock Scotch, let alone the good stuff. Last time we let them have Scotch they arsoned some sort of government building in Washington and fell out with their neighbours.
We allow them a sweet sherry on national holidays.

I'm hurt! BTW. Our neighbours have taken this matter to court. The Supreme Court there have ruled that since we misspelled "neighbors", the event never happened. Sometimes they just a little colour in thier lives.

Don't ask them for a cup of tea, we sent them loads and the ungrateful bastards threw it away.

Randy, thanks for your help. One bolt each side and then the bars just slip off. The risers themselves also slide off. Little tabs on the bars ensure you have to put them on at the correct angle. Everything seems fine, even at full lock both ways.

Bike is away for the night so will see how it feels tomorrow. If it's all good and I prefer the riding position then there may be some free risers up for grabs.

Job for tomorrow....new puig double bubble screen.

Also will treat you all with pictures.

    Thanks Everyone

Trying again. If this doesn't work i'm giving up. These are the bar risers I have just taken off. No indication of brand, so I don't know what make they are. I definitely prefer the bike with these off so won't be putting them back on.

Freebie bar risers up for grabs if anyone wants them.
