I know this is a dumb question, but I just bought a '87 VFR700 (my first bike), and I'm having trouble getting the seat off. When I put the key in what I think is the seat lock (directly in front of the rear left-turn light housing) and turn it clockwise like the manual says, the seat is not released. So I'm not sure if I have the wrong key-hole (since the manual does not show where the seat lock is), or if there is a problem with the seat release mechanism. Can someone help me out? Thanks.
When you turn the key it only unlocks the helmet lock, to release the seat you need to pull down on the u shaped release lever below the key hole. This is the procedure for Uk models i am assuming it's the same on us
