I have a Corbin seat that and I'm too cheap to buy a Sargent...can a "regular" seat be chopped to become a solo seat somehow?

why would you want to chop it? the rear cowl fits over it and it looks like a solo seat.

if you don't have a stock seat, I have one that I'd be willing to sell you for $50 plus shipping. perfect condition, no rips or tears. took it off the bike 3yrs ago when I bought a sargent.

I'm too cheap to by one of those Sargent World Sport seats...I NEVER take a passenger and would like to maximize storage under the cowl. I have a Corbin seat that is now in need of repair and thought I might give a mod a go since I have to pay some dough anyway to get my current seat worked on.

I understand that feeling. They are pricy.

I ended up epoxying two hooks under my cowl and have a piece of bungy cord tied to the existing round bar. I ride with the rear seat off and use those to secure the cowl. Lots of storage now. I think I even carried 4 16oz beers home from the store once or twice

I found the front half of a (like-new) Sargent World Sport seat for $200CDN...I cannot believe how much more comfortable it is vs my Corbin seat.

I've got the same setup. A worn out Corbin and want a Sargent. Did you get rid of the Corbin? Maybe I'd try the mod?

Yes I still have the Corbin...I don't think I'm going to do anything with it. I can fit a large tin of Tim Horton's coffee under the solo cowl...;)

Yep, just cut seat in half under the cowl. Nice extra storage.
