The I M S show in Seattle is Dec 16 - 18. Anyone here going? I just might try to hit the show Saturday weather permitting. If I leave in the morning, I should get there around noon. Parking for bikes is free. My Scottish heritage will not allow me to pass up anything free you know.

Check that free parking thing again. The venue is different than previous years and has moved back into the original digs. Be sure and enter the vroom-vroom contest. I think they have a trophy for Canadians too.

Bring some earplugs too unless you get off to the sound of squeeky leather.

Try to curb your passions. Remember there will be other Canadians there. ;)

Saw a dude one year park his truck, disrobe and change into leathers just to see the show or be the show.. Hard to tell. This was the only dude I actually saw doing this but when it's pissing down in Seattle like it does in December and ya spot a dude with dry leathers at a bike show it kinda reminds one that Halloween is over for the year.

When you get the chance, swing by the Seattle Cycle Center display and see how much they want for that skidlid you got up in Skagit County.. I would tell you to talk to Lisa but she will tell you how wonderful I really am and it would ruin my image here..;)

Do you know by chance, Billy, is there any type of lockers or such thing there? In all likelyhood it will be raining and it would be nice to loose some of the gear while I shop around and fight off the sales people. That was something I notices when going to the Abbotsford Show a couple times. Naturaly I rode but got fuggen warm after walking the floors for less than 1/2 hour.

I am going to see if I can get a couple from the LMD to ride out there with me. I am Dove Sure (99.44%) I will be riding alone though.

Good question! Not a clue. I will check my sources. This move is back to the original venue. Venue 2 near the sports stadia had check in for you warm blooded types.. Both places are warm and dry.

In the interim, check out the official site and the site for the show promoter "Advanstar" or check out the "Soundrider" site. They are there every year and the owner editor is a savvy dude.

As a last ditch, there is a Greyhound terminal a few blocks away that has lockers.

We took in the show in Abbotsford one year after spending some time at the border crossing. I guess we looked like Albanian anarchists to the dude in charge who feared for the safety of Queen and Canada from two guys on Hondas.

Just an observation. The sales dudes at the CW show are not all that agressive. The factory folk are there mostly to inform. The vendors are pretty laid back too. Not all of course but most IMO. Likely SOS and most wanting your Email addy.. Some of the usual "magic elixer" shit too. Fun to watch the pitches.

Also check out Rich's for seats. Rich is an old friend and a straight shooter. OMG! there goes my rep again.. ;) Rich and TC share the same diminished digit. Rich's got got by a Skillsaw.

Long time contributors to the show since day one at Seattle, The VME. Nice old iron.
BTW, that's Ivory that is that pure or so they say.. I think really that it's about 99% lard. The rest really should be .044 too.

Originally I had it as Ivory but edited it to Dove. First instincts are usually right.

Got some feelers out for locker or check in space at the venue.. Guessing there will likely be same. Cycle World is not the sponsor. The mag was sold and the show is now sponsored by an insurance company. Expect lots of razzle dazzle and video game type stuff. BMW tried this for several years and flopped. All these shows are not the same. Some have test rides. Don't look for this in Seattle. The NYC show has much tighter security because of theft. Some of the pre-show pix are of chopper style non-riders. HO-HUM.. Many of which have no internals for combustion.

Soft soapingly yours, over and oot!

    Randy,

Good news. There is a check in. Ask at the entrance to the hall. The check in dudes are The Christian bikers.. (CMA) IMO, what you should walk the show in is your RCMP class A's.

I think the brass buttons would resemble Shawn up Black Talons when they become separated from the suit...if you get my drift/ img033.jpg

Being Seattle there would be about six other guys in the same outfit.

The local LEOs that ride just dress regular..

Yep, Those Black Talons would let daylight in front to back.

I'll be in the Seattle area for two weeks on either the 15th or 22nd. All depends on my wife's vacation request. If I get there on the 15th, I'll definitely be there...

I had to back out of this one too. Too bad. I was looking forward to it. Would have been bloody cold riding down there though.
