Hey folks, I found a great shock upgrade option for my 5th gen. http://www.vfrworld.com/threads/discovered-a-great-shock-upgrade-for-5th-gen.54848/ The positive feedback makes me wonder if others would like help with doing the same upgrade. I think 4th gens. could also use the same shock with a different length top mount bracket. I figure I could make a top bracket from DOM rectangular tubing for about $75. Then you could get the parts and shock, to do it yourself. Or I could put together a complete parts kit (bracket, bearings/spacer washers), then you get a shock, and spring to do the assembly yourself. Or you could send me a shock, and I send you back a shock ready to install. Of course, the work would be for non-highway use, with no warranties express or implied. Just a fellow enthusiast helping you make you bike into exactly what you want. Let me know what kind of interest there might be in this sort of thing, people. Jose
