I wanted to see the dude from Revzilla do the report. He's a real fast talker.

I wonder if the two dudes who copped the big pesos from investors have some nifty bikes for sale cheap?

I bet Knight could jump on this one and have it running like clockwork in aboot ten minutes.

I was overseeing some REL testing at a vendor lab in the bay area when Skully was there performing REL testing on their helmet. I was told by my buddy there that it fared very poorly based on their own set of parameters. Sounds like they still had much work to do.

Sad for any peeps who lost money.

Sad news indeed! I was very excited for this but also quite cautious since it was such an ambitious undertaking. :(

    What's REL testing?

I think it was apparent immediately to us who ride that the helmet part of the helmet seemed unsatisfactory at best.

If one needed a helmet with those features including head protection, 800 pesos would have been in the ballpark. "New" models of the more popular lids can cost almost as much or more for "bike" helmets. Taking it up a notch, check this oot:

Google: bell racing helmets. They have one for aboot 3200 pesos that might even include free shipping.

Interesting that their website still shows that they are taking orders and a floating banner that says NOW SHIPPING. On the header of the web page it also indicates free shipping with every order all summer*. However, if you go to the purchase page it says Estimated delivery is November 2016. There is also no subtext to go with the '*' in the header.

They sound like a pair of real scum-suckers. One of the problems with buying something that doesn't exist. You can call it whatever you want, but when you put money down on a product that is essentially vaporware you're just gambling. And the house usually wins.

Maybe BMW can do this without spending other people's money. Worst case they can give their executives a brand new M Series car!

$1500 for a helmet? Not even if I hit the lotto.

BMW actually has oversight and accountability. They also won't crowdfund their helmet, so if it goes nowhere, no one is out cash but BMW.

As for Skully, when are people going to realize that crowdfunding people without a massive track record of success is just the latest scam? Was Skully formed from motorcycle helmet industry executives with a proven track record in engineering, design, and manufacturing? I'm gonna guess "no".

Don't get me wrong, there are lots of great crowdfunded projects. I'm a gamer, and there have been some great indie games made by crowd funding in the last few years. But *all* of them were run by *very* (20+ years) experienced industry executives that knew *exactly* how to get good games made, a fact they could prove because their names were in the godamn credits of that awesome game you played as "Lead Designer". Those are the kinds of projects you give money to, not ridiculous rich-guy posturing like Skully.
