Spark plug replacement

    I'm trying to pull the plugs on a 2002 VFR 800 and apparently do not have "the supplied tool". Anyone know what size socket is required and/or can recommend a good plug extension tool? Plugs are ngk imr9b, but i can't find any specs.

    I may be wrong but I am pretty sure they are 18mm.

    cant remember, but 17 or 18 sounds right... measure on the back cylinders (under the tank). There is a trick to the front ones (once you get the size of the socket). Throw the socket down the front hole, then connect your extension, then the rachet. You can remove without having to disturb the oil radiator.

    I used the standard plug socket in my kit. I used the shorter extension with electricle tape wot keep attached. Worked like a charm. As long as the faringa are off you are looking at 20 mins
    If you need the exact size i will look but most socket kits come with a plug socket. It wil, have a rubber grommet insifpde to hold the plug.

    Almost nothing else works as well or as easily as the factory tool.

    u need the factory tool for the front cylinders. I use it and the corresponding socket on top of it, come to think of it I may have used the tool and a gear wrench on the end of the factory socket tool. Worked titz without bashing the radiators.
