Has anyone done any sprocket changes? I am looking to increase off the line performance but not loose too much top end or have 75mph cruise rpms screaming through the roof if you know what I mean. I have a 98 with a micron slipon, other than that stock with 4000mi. Any other mods to improve performance would be appreciated.

    :eek:Hi,
I did the change to my older VFR.
It did improve the take off the line but you cant have it both ways.
I lost approx 10 mph on my top end.
Please note this is only a approx. to give you an idea.
If I remember I went 2 up in the back 1 tooth down in the front.
Its best to ask the speed shop guys.

I went 1 tooth smaller on the front and that (coupled w/ the Yosh and K&N air filter) seemd to
give me a noticable 'boost' off the line & quicker throttle responsew/o loosing much top end at all...I hit 145mph on the speedo this past weekend ;)

how many rpms are you turning at 70-75 mph with the one tooth on the front. I have a 98 with a micron slip on and i turn about 4800 at 70 :)

I'll have to make a note of the RPM @ 75mph (If I remember to ::) ) And no, I did not have to do any comp.or FI work at all.
