Has anybody temoved the stock exhaust baffle? If so how exactly is it done?
And does it increase the air flow? Or sound any better?
Or do I just sound stupid and cheap right now?
    Thanks

no its not stupid and cheap. i sported a gutted exhaust for a few months. but eventually i got a real exhaust. you are not going to gain any power though, due to the tiny piping leading to the mufflers which is crimped down leading towards the mufflers. it does sound great though.

Aight, thanks everyone. I think I'm gonna hold off until I can (maybe) get a staintune or leo vince exhaust. I don't want to mangle my bike by accident

I think it's a good idea on pre 6th gens. If I had a 6th gen I'd buy something aftermarket.

The two 6th gen gutted that I've heard sound tinny & tin.

I've cut open stock mufflers in the past, and welded in a center piece from a glass pack. The sound was nice and deep but looked stock.

You could do the same on a 6th gen but you'd only have one big exit pipe per side, as apposed to two per side. Only problem I see with a 6 gen is the lack of room for glass packing.

So I bought an '06 VFR800 with the baffles removed. Very professional, flawless extraction done by a professional mechanic. But it's way too loud for me. If anybody wants it I'll swap even for a stock exhaust with baffles. Can send or post photos later if you are interested.
