I am in Florida and trying to stay ATGATT can be a real pain when it is 90+ degrees out. I have a mesh jacket, and mesh pants that zips together and also wear "moisture wicking" shirts and shorts under that.
I am actually looking to replace my jacket because it is way too big on me now but other than that, it's still a great jacket; it just flops in the wind (at speed) which I find annoying as Hell.

I did find this is the next best thing to A/C while sitting on a VFR in Florida

I'm right there with ya man. I'm in SC and when I leave work in the afternoons, it's hot and humid as hell. I've got to wash the padding in my helmet because I just noticed it's starting to smell funkafied.:uncomfortableness:

I think my endura cool is defective, 'cause it doesn't work that well at all. I soak my t-shirt and that helps until it dries about 10 min. later. That vest looks ok except for the large reservoir you have to tote around with it.

Being in the military, I'm required to wear certain items while riding on base, nothing crazy, helmet, gloves, boots, long sleeve shirt. I always wear a hi-viz vest, but honestly, I just wear the uniform and that's it when it's hot. I'm not gonna put on a mesh jacket over my top, way too warm for that. I know I'm kinda breaking atgatt, but I ride to the back gate through the country, and it's only a 10 min ride with little to no traffic. I always ride with mesh when in civilian clothes, though. No special items, just mesh and jeans. I just embrace the suck when it's 100+.

I found this little item at the D Store the other day...Not sure how it will hold up in a crash, but looks like there's plenty of armor in it. Report from one guy who wears one, is that it really allows good airflow, and he wasn't too worried about going down in it. YMMV

Wearing "all black" in Florida summer... bad idea, but that's a good looking jacket

I bought a mesh last year and had doubts about it. After goeing x country last month I decided it was the best buy in years. 90-100* weather and I stayed cool riding, no problem. Stopped in city traffic I did get warm enough to sweat. Then back on the road it felt like I had a cool shirt on also.

Staying cool, still ATGATT, and looking good doing it! Priceless.

Never seen the endure cool stuff, but I've used a cooling vest and found it to be a good investment.

Underarmour makes undergarments called heat gear. Designed mostly for wearing under hockey uniforms. Fits snug both the long sleeve top and long pants. I have ridden in very hot temps wearing this below my gear. When you sweat, the evaporation of that sweat from the underarmour does a great job of cooling you down, especially when moving. A side benefit. It is spandex type garment. Your leathers are easy to remove even when you are sweaty. Great stuff IMHO

I have several "Nike Pro Gear" shirts and shorts that are also designed to cool you off. Was in a "Cycle Gear" store and bought 2 of their "heat out" shirts at $10 each, one for me and one for my daughter. She said it worked really good keeping her comfortable

^I am wit you, not a fan of mesh jackets, I wear a wife beater under a fully perferatated leather jacket and I am good. Got a white jacket that I won't wear while I ride my white and a black one I wear with any of them. Thing is this; you gota be moving or your gona be in 'cow-hide/mesh sauna' once your moving its like air conditioning, your sweat gets evaporated from the wind andits COOOL. Anyway, if you dont wana sweat, just go oot in the cage and hit that AC. Every time I go oot in a short sleave shirt on the highway I say never agai tn.

Been thinking about that evapodana thing though, maybe for my yard work. Cheers

Sir, I am not one to start arguments but is it correct that you live in Maine?

You probably have penguins walking around right now....

Basically, you giving me advice on riding in the heat would be like me telling you how to dress for winter riding.

    Thanks and stay safe/ ATGATT

    90+, you poor baby.
    Try taking off your bra.
Last summer we were riding in 115 here, still wear my leather top and bottom. I've bought a red and white jacket with plenty of opening vents for that reason, plus red and white perforated gloves, pants are still black (looks a bit wanky in other colours).
Not a fan of wearing recycled garbage bags, perforated or not.
It is bloody uncomfortable though, no doubt about that. Moving is ok, but in traffic it's crap.
Luckily I don't commute, only ride on weekends out of town.
I'm going to invest in perforated leather this year, boots and all. That should make things a bit more comfortable.

I hope all these designer garments have the labels facing out. Part of being cool is the look.

An old timey method is just pack a sweatshirt. Stop at a rest stop, gas station or Jo-jo shop and get it nice and wet with warm water. The only time this just doesn't work is if the sweatshirt is from HD.
