Maybe one of the helmet collectors here who have one for every day of the month can send you some to try on.

We are well known fashonistas if not much else..;)

Mthinks Tink is on to it helmetwise.

I got a Schuberth C3 in 2011, put the SRC BT module on it, and haven't looked back...it's been great. Very expensive IMO. I had a Concept and then a C2, because I loved the flip face and integrated sunshield...nobody else had that combo in 2002-era. I do recommend the company for their service. The SRC went bad and they replaced the whole thing for free.

I have a Cardo G4 and G9 for my sons kart racing, and it's nice that they all sync and communicate with the SRC.
I recommend the Schuberth a lot, but wish that all the comms manufacturers would agree to a common standard.

The C3 and C3Pro come with pin lock visor standard, but I no longer care for it.

Yes, the Schuberth is a super helmet. I also had their first couple flip up helmets, and I think the first one was better than the C2. I'd really like try the C3, but that much money just shoots the deal down for me. They're nice, but I just don't know if they're $400 nicer than some of the other good helmets.

Yah, I've heard a lot of great things about the Schuberth, but unless I can find them for a stellar closeout deal somewhere, I think I'm going to pass.

I looked a the LaZer Kestrel Carbon, Osprey, and Monaco this evening. I loved how light the Kestrel is, but I'm not sure I want to outlay for a Lumino lens. WTF wouldn't they just sell the damn lens with the helmet in the first place?

I'm an Oakley Sunglass fanatic, but I hate wearing sunglasses in my helmet. It sucks and my temples hurt after a while, and the pressure of the nose pieces gets to me on long distances. I'd rather have a drop down that does't apply pressure to my face at all.

I'm really leaning towards a Nolan N104 or N91, I just need to find some local places that sell them so I can try some out.

I just got the LaZer Monaco Window Pure Carbon, $299 shipped from Revzilla. 1530 grams in XL, I measured it on my gram scale. It comes with the photochromic visor and pinlock. It's freaking fantastic. Really light, the Pinlock comes from God himself and the Transitions visor is super cool. It's nice and dark during the day, but quickly changes to clear, plus the visor is made out of a nice thick material. AND, you can actually feel the air moving through the helmet. Even without the Pinlock lens, while the visor fogged at a stop light, it moves air so well that as soon as I started moving, it would blow the fog off of the windscreen. Oh, and it's light. The helmet bag it comes with is nice too. It's a thick padded material with double drawstrings.

I actually emailed LaZer, which is in Belgium and they are very very fast at returning emails. Revzilla is the sole US distributor and they too have very good customer service too.

According to LaZer, they are coming out with a new version of the Monaco helmet soon, I haven't gotten a release date yet, but my contact is off work until Tuesday.

The only two niggles I have with it is that the chin bar is close to my chin and the adjustable part of the strap doesn't have anything to retain it, but it's easily remedied. The one thing that I love about the helmet is that when I am riding and I turn my head to look if the lane is clear, there is very very little effect from the wind. There is also very little buffeting. My head just says still. It's wonderful! I rode home from Duccmann's house last night and I hit some rain and with the Pinlock, I was absolutely fog free. Such a fantastic thing!

If it comes with the photochromatic lense and pinlock, then I'll definitely put it back on my short list ...

Anyone have any experience with the Bell Vortex helmets? they seem to get really good reviews and I've found them heavily discounted at some places.

Not with the Vortex, but I just got a girlfriend a Bell Revolver Evo (a modular) and she seems to enjoy it. I know that Bell is a big name in helmets, but my thoughts always turn to bicycle stuff with them. It has gotten good reviews, but from what I have read it tends to be somewhat on the heavy side, almost modular weight, and it fairly loud.

Here is a link to a fairly in-depth review: http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-helmet/bell-vortex/

Also for the Nolan N91 and N104: http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-helmet/nolan-n91/review.htm and http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-helmet/nolan-n-104/

Right now I have two helmets in my cart ....

Lazer Monaco Pure Glass w/Lumino Shield & Pinlock
    Lazer Kestrel Pure Carbon w/Pinlock

Huge weight difference between the two. One is modular and the other isn't. One is carbon and one is fibre ... seriously thinking of pulling the trigger on the Kestrel Carbon, but I know the Monaco seems to get better reviews for noise.

They Monaco seems to be getting decent markers; the lightweight and low noise is always a plus.
