Turn signal on Dash stays on

I am having an issue with my 85 VFR500F left turn signal on the dash stays on all the time.

The turn signals work just fine. The cancel button does turn the actual signal off. I have had this motorcycle for about two months and this light has always been on for me.

Can someone let me know where I should start to look into this and what info you want me to provide. I have tried to look on this for to see if this has been posted before however I was not able to find anything.

This issue turned out to be a wiring issue.
I used the attached wiring diagram to fix it.

 

Hey mschmutz, big thumbs up to you! You're a new guy, you searched before you asked, nobody answered you, you got the wiring diagram and tracked down the problem and fixed it. THEN you came back to all of us who didn't try to help and told us it was fixed and that it was a wiring problem. GREAT JOB from start to finish. I feel sorta like we let you down.
