Hard to know for sure if it'll come to fruition but wouldn't it be nice to have some new road going two stroke bikes again? http://www.cycleworld.com/ktm-trans...pJobID=1103697192&spReportId=MTEwMzY5NzE5MgS2
I'm not sure. My only 2 stroke experience was on someones dirt bike. Give it a little gas and let the clutch out. Dook dook dook, it sort of goes forward. Hmm, a little more gas, reach a certain RPM and braaaaap! Stands on the back wheel. Holy! Not sure I need that much excitement.
Yeah, sometimes a little unexpected excitement can be unnerving but when you know what you got and respect it, it's a whole other ball game.
I have long dreamed of building a custom bike around a smoke belching, fire breathing, Kawi triple 750 ring-a-dinger. Jose
I had a Bultaco 350 Pursang back in tha day and the scars to prove it. The throttle was like a mistery bag (pre reed valve days), nothing, nothing, still nothing, holy shit!!! Put that together with a left hand kick starter and shit ignition control and it was a recipe for pain. Ahhh, I miss it. The pinnacle was probably the Suzuki RG500, they are worth a fortune now and were great road bikes.
Those RG's were beasts. I know them only through legend. Never got my hands on one. Although the Yammy RZ500 was also a giant killer. Yep .... this is the kind of wackiness and shenanigas I'm talking about. Jose
Back when ATCs (Yes, 'C' as in Cycle) were the all the rage, there were dozens of three wheeled 2 stroke beast. RZ's were the most abundant power plant used but there were a few that used the larger displacement motors, mostly for dunes and hill climbing competition. I had two Honda ATC250Rs and raced them in the So Cal desert. Oh I do miss those days, mostly because I was young and fearless! Now, not so much young...maybe semi-fearless at best.

And as far as bringing back 2 strokes goes, screw the RC213V-S - Honda, make a street legal version of this baby!!!

if things keep going they way they appear to be going, you won't be able to buy a 4t either...let alone register anything that burns gas.
