Hi, im new to the forums and new to the Honda v4s. I bought a 1986 VF500 a couple weeks back. I'm really interested in doing this swap. Found this site :
    http://www.halibut.com/~csmith/vf500/f2wheel.html

I'm just wondering if anyone has any pics of the actual process or the final product. And if there's anything I should look out for. Thanks in advance and I'm enjoying this site. Very informative.

Also, what other options are they for a wider tire. The reason behind wanting to do the swap is purely for looks.

handling will become weird and unpredictable--possibly dangerous--because of the drastic mismatch between front wheel/tire and rear, a bad choice merely for looks ! :blue:

My two cents: not worthwhile, particularly just for aesthetics. Now I am certainly no expert, but long ago I tried a similar trick, up sized the tire on the stock wheel. I did not care for it, now I only run stock sizes. YMMV

Ok thanks for the heads up. It has a 110 on it now. Is that the widest I should go?

You can go 120/80 no problem on that rim. Will not negatively affect the profile of the tire or the handling.

Good info... the mistake I made was fitting a 120/90.

I have a 120/70ZR17 Front Dunlop Sportmax Q3 off another bike with hardly any wear on it. Possible to use long term?

Um... no. Your bike doesn't have a 17" wheel, front or rear.

Hahahahaha lol. Did not even notice. Is it possible to run a front tire from another bike on the rear?

In some rare instances, but never recommended. We used to run ME22s backwards on VTR250 rears. But you lose your optimal water dispersment from the tread. You run them backwards because they are designed for either stress from acceleration or braking.
