    Very sad news today.

I just discovered that Billy Musick (billmaa) from By Way of Motorcycle (BWOM) passed over the holidays. I knew he was having some medical issues but he never once said what it was or how bad it was.

We attempted to meet up a few times in recent months while I was passing through Omaha. He was a passionate rider who rode his motorcycle in every single state, a passionate vlogger, and a VFR rider.

He and his friend Tracy inspired myself and many others through their vlogging.

    R.I.P. Billy ....

It's very sad ... he wasn't much older than me. I had just been in contact with him not long ago.

    He's leaving behind a wife and a son. :(

Damn, that's eerie. We are only months apart in age and have very common interests, etc. RIP pal I never met.

An inescapable part of living on this earth is that we all leave it.
The sad part to me is that some go way, way too early, before really living, finding a passion, experiencing actually doing what was left as just a dream.
Some do stick around for many decades, yet befall the same fate, going through the motions, never really going for a goal.
Those unfortunates are ones I mourn; the unfulfilled, untested lives.

I had not yet heard about Billy, and his motovlogs. Jeff posted this in 2015, a while before I bought the Y2K and joined the list: http://vfrworld.com/forums/showthread.php/49192-By-Way-of-Motorcycle

Reading the news today about Billy's passing has gotten me watching the videos, and over the next few days I'll do most, if not all. That would include time at his website:
    http://bywayofmotorcycle.com/
I don't go there to cry, or with a morbid curiosity. No, it is to cheer, laugh, enjoy, and be inspired by someone I never had the opportunity to meet.

It is obvious that his was a life lived well, so worth celebrating, cheering about, sharing with others.
If there is sadness, it is for dear ones now left behind. Wife, child, and best friend/riding buddy.

Something I really like about this group: There is an appreciation of adventure/life experience. Maybe it is part of the psyche of riders. Those who don't, or haven't ridden are missing out. Billy was certainly not one of them.

    Well said!!!

I watched many of his videos again last night in memory of him, smiling and laughing at their adventures, knowing the challenges of the road and the memories that you can make along the way.
