I'm posting this link for you race fans.It took place in 1987 on a track close to where I live. It was a challenging circuit with lots of elevation changes and rough asphalt. It really favored the local rider who had put in their time as the course didn't offer more than a couple of good lines. In this particular race we got to see a couple of local boys duking it out on Interceptors. The track was ploughed under in 1990 to make way for ......You guessed it .More housing. The tears still haven't dried around here......mike

    LOL, 1980s Canadians.

Good race, though. Thanks for posting.

I know it's kind of old. I was getting a little nostalgic the other night cause we loved this track. Some pretty big names raced there over it's 30 years and more than a few said that turn 3 was the most challenging that they had seen. Back straight had a 75 foot climb to the crest at deer's leap. The bikes would barely settle down and they were braking for the hairpin. ......There I go getting all teared up again.....Mike

Yea the good old days. Thanks for the video. I raced against #9 Paul MacMillan back in the early 80's in the 24hrs of Nelson. There's a vid with him as one of the narrators of the 83 24hrs on the web.

Man that course looks rough but the boys put on a great show. I remember riding my CBR600 down to Shannonville that year to catch a round of the superbike championship. Ahh those were the days.....

Funny how the VFR mutated from this into a sport touring machine over the next three years.

Nice link. I remember watching friends of mine racing in the Honda Michelin and Players GM series there. I hear that start/finish is now the tee box to some golf course now.

You're right asp125.The start/finish is pretty well right on the edge of the golf course. When the area was developed they kept some pertinent names for the streets.Paddock dr.,Deer's leap Place,Goodyear dr. Carousel dr. etc .Some of the names that raced at Westwood circuit.Gilles Villeneuve,Danny sullivan,Michael Andretti,Bobby Rahal and many more.

Thanks for posting, I laughed out loud when I saw Steve Dick's stash ;) I've heard so much about the old Westwood track and Westwood days but I had never actually seen any footage of the racing there. Typical Canadian track, he he. My racing days started at Mission.

    Thanks again :)

Zero runoff in some areas. Lots of machines ended up suspended in the trees.
