Sorry for the delay but I was finally able to put together a rear POV video of Duccmann following me on Saturday's ride.

We got a new garage door today. When I moved my bike back into garage to tinker, I noticed that I have a split, actually multiple delaminations in various stages, on my back tire. It's the Dunlop Q3+ set. I know they had a recall for delam on a batch of front tires. Looks like they need to do one for the back tires too.

It may be a fluke though, as I know California Superbike School goes through at least 450 a year. I will call Monday to see if they have ever had this problem.

I'm going to trailer the bike to my tire place on Sunday, since they are closed Saturday.

Hmm, that's interesting. Hope they're able to take care of that.

I was going to say that I have never or would have seen that in my tire inspections. I generally look at the street surface not the side wall with intense observation. Especially at the rim. Glad it was the plasti dip. But I freaking hate dunlops and cant wait to get the EVO T30's on the bike. I think that after the july ride in southern Utah it should be a done deal. Thank god!;-)

I have ridden T30 Evos a lot. They are good tires. I don't know that I've ridden them as hard as the Q3+, but they always stuck to the ground with all they riding I've done, including embarrassing a Lamborghini in the local canyons.

It's just really weird that this tire has delaminated the way it has. Only on one side. And, on the track I run the same pressure that CSS runs on all of their BMWS. I'm really curious if they have had any issues. Either way, I'm going to forward my pictures to them just for safety's sake. It would be a huge legal mess if one of these tires gave out on a student.

I'm sure Dunlop and Wheels in Motion, (my tire place) will take care of me. They are good people.

My tire place is replacing my tire for me. Pretty cool! Wheels In Motion, Canoga Park, Ca. The only place I've bought tires for the last eight years. Great people, excellent prices.

I love the feel of a new rubber.

I realised today I have literally not bought a new tire (s) from anywhere else in eight years.

The old bird doesn't look too bad considering she's 19 years old with over 82,900 miles on her. That's like 100 in motorcycle years. I gave her a hand job yesterday. She's still beaming about it.
