Started riding on the street at age 14 in 1957 on an NSU Superfox. At 16 got a Triumph 3T which Bob Leppan (of Gyronaut fame) built the engine for and which I rode till I graduated high school. I quit riding through college and grad school, but got back to riding a 650 Triumph in '72 after I got my first real job as a University professor. I presently ride only a couple of thousand miles a year, slowly, on country roads. I've recently turned 70 and am slow and cautious now, but I still love riding and tinkering with bikes. Short answer: riding for 56 years with a 9 year hiatus.

My user name story is kind of dumb. Because my name is ed people thought it was funny to say it really long in a weird voice so it was like eeeeeeeeeeed but I didn't like that there were more e's than d's so I made it 3 e's and 3 d's and 3 is my favorite number the 3927 comes in because I like the number 3 the number 9 is there because 3x3 is 9 and 27 is there because 3 to the third power is 27. All of yalls names have a more interesting story though hahaha

Thanks Jethro, I think yours said you got it because you had a lot of muscle so that's a plus I would be happy with that hahaha I'm not big not too bright sometimes either but its either gonna be fun or funny what ever I do, a rednecks famous last words are "hey yall watch this"

I don't remember what I wrote way back but I believe that I was given the nickname "jethro" simply because at times I exhibited more muscle than brains, not that I had a lot of muscle. It's funny because in high school all my friends called me bubba but I ain't no bubba if ya know what I mean. Sometimes these nicknames make no sense at all but they stick like flies on shit anyway.

BTW, I learned early on that whenever I said "hey watch this", it was usually followed by an epic fail of some kind that left me in severe pain. I stopped saying that last year cause I'm all growed up at 48.

Hahaha yea I still say and do stupid things but at 20 its still fun, as long as I keep it off the roads, my body heals faster than my driving record does... unless I hit something going fast then well there's no comin back so I try to be smart about stupid stuff

I have a '93 Mazda Rx-7 that I've poured blood, sweat, tears, and God only knows how much $$$ into, and I like to think it's fast. So there you have it, RotaryRocketeer.

Ah, the last of the real RX7s. I had one for years. Fun car. Deceptively fast. I'm sure the tweaks you've made leave quite a few "supercars" wondering what the hell just happened. These days I spend my time on a little V6 Turbo Buick from back in the 80's'
