I wear a First Gear mesh tex jacket in the Summer. Alpinestar leather jacket 8 months of the year. And Aerostich one piece Roadcrafter on overnight trips if the temp is 85 deg or cooler or in the winter with an elec vest.

Here are a couple pics of my riding jackets Andrew. I live here in the Frozen Wastelands of Wisconsin where we definitely have all four seasons, and with the Great Michigan Ocean producing it's own weather patterns,we sometimes get all four seasons all in one day. So you need a wide variety of jackets to cover all the bases.
These first two are my cold weather jackets. The first one is an Icon Heater jacket. The second is an Icon Daytona jacket. Both jackets are equipped with cold weather liners. The Heater jacket is a bit heavier than the Daytona, but both are plenty warm. The Daytona jacket has a higher collar for a bit more coverage on your neck, but I actually prefer the low-cut collar on the Heater jacket.

This is my main workhorse,my Vanson leather jacket. I bought this jacket about 17 or 18 years ago and had the jacket custom tailored to fit me when I got it. I guess all those hours I put in down in my gym and the countless tens of thousands of miles I've put on my bicycles have paid off because this jacket still fits me like a glove after all that time.
Vanson leather jackets aren't your ordinary off the rack type of leather jackets Andrew, and they're definitely not cheap either. I like to think of this jacket as more of a riding investment. It's an old familiar riding partner that I'll have for a long time to come.

This is my Icon TiMax2 textile jacket that I use for warmer weather riding. It comes with a liner, but I rarely use it.

Summer weather temps here in the frozen Wastelands of Wisconsin are usually around the 75F to 85F degree range, but occasionally we do get a few 90F+ degree days. For those really hot days I had an Icon TiMax mesh jacket. I loaned it to my sister and she liked it so much that I just gave it to her. I'll prolly be picking up another one later this summer.
I gotta say Andrew that I actually prefer to ride in the colder, cooler weather though. I guess there's just something about having all that dead cow hide draped over you that just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

I wear a Cortech GX jacket. Lots of uselful pockets and the price was right. Removable liner too. Not waterproof at all. If the vents are open, there is A LOT of drag.

Otherwise, I wear an old microfiber black Ralph Lauren sport coat. Goes with just about any outfit.

I got this jacket for 100 bucks and the pants for 80 bucks shipped off of motorcycle superstore and the jacket has exceeded all my expectations. Cold weather riding. 0 to 32 degrees F for me, the jacket and pants keep you warm and toasty, used it for snowmobiling all day in the blizzard we had earlier this year. If it's over 30 degrees and I am going for a ride, I usually just wear boxers under the riding pants with just the insulated lining in them. On the warm side, the jacket has great vents but if you are sitting in traffic at 80 degrees you will get hot.

My friend made the comment that the jacket also has the appearance of an SS jacket ha.

I wear my beat up black Icon Retro Daytona. It has at least 20000 miles and 3 crashes and still hold up well. I use it year round from temps in the 30s to temps in the 100s. I like it. It fits wells and I feel protected with it. Of course I ought to, the damn thing weighs a ton.
