I've taken them out and cleaned them and gotten the bike running fine 3-4 times over the years. This time, it starts and idles fine, but doesn't seem to have any power. I can't let the clutch all the way out before it dies, even though holding it at about 4000 RPM. So is this a problem with the carbs sitting too long also? Should I try cleaning them out again?...

Considering the mileage on it etc.

My first post here, hope to get in contact with fellow vfr enthousiasts.

I own a vfr750 from '92 for which I have recently done some maintance work and it now has a single pop, backfire, when I engage the throttle slightly after a decell. It especially happens in the higher rpm-range. This is a new 'feature' after the maintenance work I've done. The state of the machine before the work was fine, allthough therw where some vibrations in the higher rpm-range. I suspected this...

New coolant hoses, seal the headers (no exhaust sealant used when the previous owner mounted them), new air filter, after market gear selection indicator, and new bodywork. Wait what, new bodywork? Hehehe

I plan on re-applying the missing decals. I already have a set. I prefer things stock but am OK to leave the mods on this one once I get the decals on.
