<br />
Last fall i got squeezed up on a divider in the middle of the road. The bike got delivered into winter storage.<br />
In the spring, i got the shop to change the tyres to new Michelin Road 6. <br />
First ride in the spring. HORROR. A horrible harmonic vibration/shaking that comes from speed of 50-70 kph.<br />
First thought, did they not balance the tyres ?? get them balanced. no effect.<br />
Notice the rims are damaged.<br />
change both rims. Does not help ???<br />

Not that I doubted it... Anywho, not really a how-to, but here&#039;s some pics of my own process. <br />

I used a &quot;URTONE&quot; momentary button, and a Motion Pro 01-0080 throttle tube to get it done. The OEM RH grip is molded with the tube. I have done new grips on Kawasaki, Yamaha and Triumph, before. Never saw that until now. PITA. Anywho, the OEM cam diameter is 34mm, and the Motion Pro tube I bought was around 32. So, rather than deal with a longer throw, I used some JB weld to make it a...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Just looking at some slip-ons and after a lot of comparing I like the Scorpion for it&#039;s angular look that seems to go with the angular, stealth look of the Interceptor overall.  Looks to be very good quality with no extra &quot;strap&quot; added to hold it on.<br />

In looking over the technical info I see a contradiction in description on their website.  One part for this exhaust says that all Scorpion exhausts are homologated and street legal.  Another part says &quot;Not homologated&quot; very clearly.<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Looked at a 2014 DLX today for possible purchase. Good overall but when I went on the test ride, the speedo was hardly readable. Didn&#039;t matter how I sat or the varying angle of the sun. Other side looked OK.<br />
Even in the shade, the speed digits were hard to see.<br />
Speedo numbers almost looked burned or sun faded. Is that an issue with the 8th Gen bikes?<br />
Gauge cover was scratched quite a bit all over but I dont think that is causing the issue I saw.]]></content:encoded>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[So seemingly I got old overnight so to speak this year. Riding the VFR is out of the question on longer rides apparently. Popping ibuprofen before helps the back, but only temporarily now. Just a ride down to Gingerman track yesterday, eating more ibu there, the ride back was intolerable. <br />
Would putting the 1 1/4&quot; risers help to a great degree? I have the seat on the up position due to a hip pointer with legs cramped in stock position. <br />
Any rides to the 555 or Dragon on it are not happening...<br />

I got a decent deal on a set of panniers, topbox and carrier off a Crossrunner 800. I know that the panniers will fit straight on, I suspect that the topbox will fit the 800F carrier. However, i am pretty sure that the Crossrunner carrier will not fit.<br />
<br />
Sourcing an 800F carrier appears to be nigh-on impossible, but there is some availability of the 1200 rear carrier (08L42-MGE-800 or 08L71-MJM-D10 ). Does anyone know if this will fit the 8th gen 800?<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[OK - I suspect this is just a case of a mix up by a tyre(tire) fitter but I cannot understand why the tyre valve on the front wheel points to the left side of the motorbike and the rear wheel it points to the right side of the motorbike. <br />

I have checked that both tyres are rotating in the correct direction so its is not simply the fitter installing the tyre the wrong way around simply they got the valve pointing to the wrong side.<br />

I am considering purchase of a 2014 VFR 800. Prior owner reports bar risers installed. They look like about 1/2 to 3/4 inch. I found the bars to feel still too low and more weight than I might like on my hands. The bars also felt fairly narrow. While considering fit, the foot pegs felt high and close to me. I didnt get to fool with the seat.  I understand there are some adjustments there.I am about 5&#039;9&quot;. I see many taller riders making this bike work. Maybe I can get used to it but...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Been riding my new to me 2014 VFR800 standard for a few weeks now, putting on 3-4 hours and maybe 200 miles on it.  <br />

Was riding today and came to a stop at a light and the bike died. Dash shows oil light,  check engine light and gear indicator shows &quot;--&quot; and the bike won&#039;t restart.  <br />
<br />
Pulled off the road and tried what i could.  Stand up down,  kill switch on off,  shifting gears,  clutch in/out, and no response from the starter.  Does not try to crank and lights do not dim.  <br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[The helmet lock cables on the 8th gen are obviously an afterthought by Honda.  They must have forgotten to Cad a sensible helmet lock onto the frame in design phase, and that carried unnoticed into production that way.<br />

Doh! Quick, weld some curly-Q barbs onto the frame before the boss notices !  Doh! Now the helmet straps wont reach the curly-Q barbs!  Quick, crimp some of that bailing wire over there into extension cables.  Doh! Now the cable is scraping the paint off the plastic bodywork....<br />
