    Hey Guys,

Well, riding season isnt too far from being over up here. I've got about 16,000 kms on this year and am just getting the bike to where I really enjoy it. About half the time I'm out in the twisties riding this thing like my track bike, the other half I'm doing 2300 kms in a weekend on sweepers.

I've spent the summer transforming the VFR into a Gold Wing wanna be. So, here is a list of the mods I've done to get this thing into shape as a long distance tourer:

    Helibars
    Buell foot pegs
    Corbin seat
    Autocom w/Kenwood 2W radio
    SPOT
    Zumo GPS
    Heated grips
    Heated vest switched circuit
    Wire my bike fuse box
Bar end mirrors + LED turn signals
Radar detector (audio output to Autocom)
Shure E4C headphone with ear molds from an Audiologist
    Audiovox Electronic cruise control
    Micron exhaust
    PCIII + O2 elim

Anyway, here are a few pics of the setup as it sits right now.

Cheers, and thanks to everyone who has helped me along the way.

    Wesley J

Much better than the stock mirrors. All I could see were my shoulders... Really changes the look of the bike too, much more agressive IMHO. Get good ones though, the cheap ones are aweful.

Heli bars are great, made a decent difference. The Corbin seat is stellar, proabably the best mod I've done. Yup, its a ZG Double Bubble. Its a decent shield. I have the ZG touring which privides a bit more protection but it got broken by a rock the other day.

    Givi bags:

Aghhh.....sorry, but the 1st pic got to me.

Why do so many people attach more keys to the ignition key and let them flap/fly all over the triple clamp? Such a waste....

But hey, other than that, nice bike!

Great setup!! Fantastic job on all of the upgrades. But one question. Why did you choose the Buell footpegs(possibly the drop)? Do you feel any more vibration thru them?

    Thanks for the great pics.

Yup still running strong. Thanks again for the parking!

The bar end mirrors are great, I'll try to get a pic from my point of view while on the bike. I'd forgotten just how bad the regular mirros are until I got on a friend's ST4s.

I look at my Autocom every time I'm on the bike ;-)

The double bubble is good but I prefer the touring. Unfortunately I took a rock to the touring windsheild and its busticated. I'm going to try a givi and see how it is.

You'd really hate to see my bike when I have crap bunjied to it and my tank bag stuck on it. Made to be ridden I say. When you're travelling for a week or 2 on the bike and you have to get in and out of luggage, it really sux to go looking for the keys. Scotch bright and laquer thinner fixes it in about 2 minutes anyway.... Also, color sanding will fix most paint scuffs in no time. That's why I have 4 coats of clear on the bike.

Yup, the 1"+ drop. I dont feel any additional vibration but they do spread your feet wider a bit. On a plus side, my right boot now hits the peg wing thingy instead of the exhaust pipe like it did before. Size 12 feet are a PITA...
