Bloody hell fire. Another invasion has started. Welcome Bud. Sure wished blue was an option here when I bought mine. The wife and I are hoping to make a trip out that way next summer or fall. Mostly Scotland though but will do some Ireland and England too. Gotta go see Liz.

My late mother had an audience with the Queen back in 1984. Was sure a highlight in her life. This is her in the burgundy hat.

Yes vfrchick. She was a gal alright. Passed on this past New Years day but she had a great life. After all she had me..

Squirrel. Years ago, early 70's my mother realized there were lots on monuments in Canada commemorating the men who fought and gave the ultimate sacrifice to this country during the two world wars. There was nothing in the British Empire (which Canada is part of) that commemorated the women who did the same. (Mom was a CWAC...Canadian Women's Army Corps. Worked in a munitions plant during WWII) So she set about raising $50,000.00 to commission a statute that were three life sized women, Army, Navy and Ari Force. It is presently erected on Memorial Park in Winnipeg Manitoba. The Queen was invited to dedicate this Memorial but was unable to attend due to other commitments. Buckingham Palace did say she wanted to visit this Memorial next time she was to visit Winnipeg, and that is exactly what she did. Mom was her escort during this viewing. If you are interested, visit Women's Tri Service Memorial. Unfortunately the only one getting credit here is the sculptor, though she was great to mom and her committee.
