Hey guys, if you get bored riding around in the nice weather stop by the station. I rode in this morning- 32 degrees:bootyshake2: and I liked it. Ya'll should use the station as your meeting place. I might be able to sneak out some coffee.

Skeeter- Welcome aboard. Look forward to riding with you. We need to have a large gathering before it really is TOO cold. Maybe next Sunday? Anybody? Supposed to be in the 50's.

OK, too late for me... The wife caught up to me and now I have STUFF to do.

Next weekend is possible. Not up for the 32degree mornign tho. I had enough of that this past winter riding in 30 and sometimes sub 30s temps.

Can't make it out today. I have to drive up to National to pick up my nephew and take him down to meet his mother.

I subscribed to this thread with instant email notification so I can stay up to date. As long as I check my email, lol!! Ride went really well. Did a Marshall loop and ended up in Front Royal for lunch and of course came back up via 55. Pace was very relaxed, almost a sight seeing pass without much to look at. It turned out to be 4 of going out. I'm going to do some more rides with my buddy Erik that owns the 675. He rides a very chill pace and knows a lot of good routes to take in this area. Next time we go out you should seriously come out. I don't know what type of pace you like to run and I'm guessing that is the problem with riding with new people. You never know what you're going to get. IMO, even if our pace is too slow for some, it could possibly give you some new routes to try out on your own.

And Hotbrakes- Where is your station??? I would love to have a meet up of VFR's next weekend!! Lets get the ball rolling on something for next Sunday!!

I'm at Dumfries Rd and Hoadly Rd- Coles District Station 6.

What do ya'll think about a good long ride? Meet around 8am on Sunday, wheels up at 0830 and head to a place where there aren't many other people, about 400 miles total? Home by dark. Here's a link to the route I have in my mind. Check the box at the top of the page to show a map. We take this route frequently. The mountain section is like Deal's Gap (well almost). We will always be close to a main road so splitting off is easy.

I love that route. As long as we can find a BBQ joint somewhere down south, that would be cool with me.

As for the pace, I got to be honest that I don't want to speed on the street. I save going fast for the track. I will go quick in the turns for sure, but the straights there is just no point in speeding anymore for me.

I don't understand though, I have instant email notification on this thread as well, yet I only get like every fifth post on here so I have been missing many of these posts.

His station is way down 234 bypass on the right as you are heading south just after the Hoadly Road turn. Also, there are some hotties working there at the station for sure. Hotbrakes, whats up with all the cute chicks working there?

Hotbrakes - that route takes you right past me in Fredericksburg. If you get that setup, I might be able to hop in with you all when you get off exit 110 on 95.

Glockem - I'm signed up for instant email notification on this thread too, but I'm not receiving any notifications. I can't even post a reply by click on the post button. I have to click on the 'quote' button on the last post to get it to allow me to post and just delete the text that appears in the box before I type. Makin' it through though.

What's the pace of this ride? I'm not trying to get a ticket for doing 20+ over. I just don't want to hold people up.

Glockem- Don't worry about the pace. Never more than 10 over really. All the roads are still fun, that's why we picked them. Not sure about a BBQ place along the way, but there is a good restaurant in Lovingston with a variety of tasty food.

Where did you see these chicks? I guess there's one but I have to treat her like my sister.

Skeeter- That would not be a problem to meet up along the way. The only variance of the map would be getting the hell off 95 at Thornburg (118) and taking some enjoyable backroads from there. I can't afford to get a ticket and I've learned that when taking other people on a new route for their first time to take it easy or warn them of any tricky stuff. But ya know what? We can get everybody on the same page so we meet up at certain points. Ride your own ride, I don't plan on going fast, definitely not over 80 unless we want to see who's bike is the fastest. :vader:

    Here's a little taste-

I am not worried about my pace at all. Turns will always be 10mph over or possibly 30 mph over. Basically, I will only speed in the turns, and no where else. :)

As for the chicks at your station, I seem to remember observing a couple of them that got into a Ford Superduty, and the one that answered the door that day.

Is that a SuperChicken in the picture above? Looks like you were having fun through there.

Okay. Sounds like we have a plan. Let's all pray the weather is clear that day. I going to send out an invite to a friend of mine that has an FZ1 and see if he wants to make the trip. Hope that's cool with everyone else. So far this is what our plan is:
Meet at the station at 8am and stands up at 8:30. Meet Skeeter along way at some exit on 95. Then off to a safe and fun ride in the south west end of the state. Looking at the map I'm guessing the quickest/easiest way back home is to stab it up 81 to 66.

LOL! The wife will find out tonight that I will not be home on Sunday!!!

That's right. All day ride! It's gonna be chilly so bundle up. With such an early start we should be home by dark. And bring whoever you want. Just no whiney babies please, it will be a long ride and cold at times, but that's why we ride sport tourers. :strong: If we have 8 or more people we can split into 2 groups to keep it safe.

Glockem- that's exactly how I ride, slow in the straights, fast in the turns. The pavement will probably be too cold for knee draggin unfortunately.

Uh oh. I am a whiner, so I probably shouldn't go then.

I don't mind not knee dragging on this bike, b/c I don't really know how to ride it yet suspension and tire wise. I am still trying to get comfortable with it in the turns as compared to my 51 track bike.

So we've got Glockem, Titanium, VA NTRCPTR, and myself. Bitterpill? Skeeter? I'll be jumping off 95 at Thornburg exit 118 if you want to meet us there. VA NTRCPTR will be meeting us in Stafford. Anybody else?

I'll have all 3 boxes on so if anyone needs to shed a layer or 2 they are more than welcome.
