That's it at the flashing light. I'll pull the bike out front in the morning.

Yes. Check your tire pressure. That will help them last longer.

The weather is supposed to be in the upper 50's now. Woohoo!

If you got to aska question like that, perhaps you shouldn't be taking a ride this far with us?

What are the times and meeting points for this trip tomorrow? I see a good road plan, but have not noticed a good time and or meeting place times?

I thought us up north are meeting at the station at 8. Stands up at 8:30. I was assuming that Hotbrakes made a plan for whomever we are meeting down south. I'm hoping the plan is to meet at the Thornburg exit and not along the way on 95. I hate 95 and would hate to be jumping on and off of it. But I'm not leading this thing, so I'll do what I'm told.

Also, no pointing and laughing at my bike. I had a minor low side about 3 weeks ago. I'm waiting to take the plastic off until we have some snow and I can't ride!!

Guys, my girl parts are definitely getting bigger. I just started the bike and rode up to the Shell to fill up, and it is just too cold for me to ride already. So I don't think a nice long cold road trip is in the cards for me today. High temp is only supposed to be 48, cloudy, and windy, so I am being a pussy and bailing out. Have fun though. Sorry for missing the ride. If I had heated grips and seats like Hotbrakes has got, I might go, but I don't. :(

Well that sucks Glockem. Hopefully we link up on another ride! Maybe one that's a bit more local.

I'm heading out the door in a few. Hitting up that same Shell station and heading to the Station 6. I don't have heated gear but I'm willing to test out my cold weather gear. I hope it stands up to the temps.

Here are a few pics from the ride today. I love b&w pics, so I played with a couple of them... posted both versions.

Pretty cool pictures. How was the ride? Did you guys see many cops or anything crazy during the ride?

I think Titanium is still freezing his way home but here's some more pics. The MEN had a good ride, warmest temp was 48, coldest 32! 5 of us total.

326 miles was my total. Titanium?

Those of us that showed up had a great time, no traffic, no enforcers, and no close calls. Those that missed out- SUCKAS!

Skeeter has a beautiful bike. How bout some black chrome on those wheels? That would finish it off.

Hotbrakes, did you try to leave me a voicemail? I just got one that popped up on my phone, but all I heard was 1 or 2 words on the voicemail and that was it. It is a 540 number, was that you?

Oh well, I'm glad you guys had a good ride and didn't freeze too awful much?

I walked in the door just a couple minutes past 6. I yea, there were some moments on 15 that I had to make up for slow traffic in front of me and going through some of the little towns. My trip up 15 was: 91.7 miles onto our trip. I wish I would have brought my GPS so I would have a complete trip mileage. Oh well, next time.

My trip report: Great people, great bikes, awesome roads, and totally worth the trip + the cold temps. I can't wait to make the trip again. Can't wait to see some of those roads again when it's warmer out. The trip home was long a boring but that was expected. I was a bit happy with myself that I didn't crank it up on the last bit of the way home (can't say the same for the first part of trip home- stupid cagers couldn't keep a decent speed going up some of the hills. No double yellow passes though!). The colder temps, darkness, and shear boredom I thought was going to get the best of me. I keep telling myself, "man, doing screw up a perfect day but making a stupid mistake or get a stupid speeding ticket!" The closer I got to home the more I had to convince myself to the keep the speeds down and wait my turn for passing. In the end I walked into the house and the wife and my son were eating dinner. Put the bike in the garage and ate some food. A couple rum and cokes and I was out like a light by 8:30!

Thanks Hotbrakes for trip! I think I might start my modifications sooner than I was originally planned. I'm thinking this weekend I'm going to tear the bike down and make a list of things I need to get done. Heated Grips FTW!!

I dunno about black chrome wheels. I have looked into chrome wheels with raised chrome VFR decals. I haven't found quality chrome wheels and have read where some discourage it b/c of added weight. But oh well. The next adds over the winter will be heated grips & an HID projector low-beam retrofit mod. I may start tinkering with that in ~ 2 weeks.

Speaking of decals, Hotbrakes - you mentioned something about the VFR decals on my front. I have some extra decals from when I bought the bike. I think I have two more in a box somewhere just like the ones on my bike if you want them. Lemme know and I'll send them to you.

Thanks to all for letting me tag along. I shot up 15 north to 20 north in Orange once I left you guys. The wind sucked coming across the top of hills, but it was an awesome day all-in-all. Next time I'll plan better to hang out all day. I figured a half-day ride is better than a no-day ride though!

Glad you made it back Titanium. No deer? We saw 3 and one was on a suicide mission but thought twice luckily.

Skeeter- appreciate your offer but I've got my own custom VFR decals. I'll ask my roommate though. Glad you came out for a little while at least, unfortunately you split just as we were getting to the good stuff.

I think I was more afraid of a deer jumping out than I was of a cop pulling me over! But thankfully I didn't even see one deer on the way home.

Ti, depending on where you broke away from the pack, couldn't you have jumped on 29 near Charlottesville and rolled up that way?

We looked at the map and made the assumption that it would be quicker to head up 15. It seemed to be more of a straight line than 29. Although, 29 may have been quicker due to the 4 lanes and not having to go through the little towns. 29 is also long and boring as I'm sure all of you know from making the trip down to VIR! My route ended up being 15 to Culpeper to route 29 to route 28 to Vint Hill Farms Road then onto Sudley Manor Dr and then finally into my neighborhood.

Well the boring trip up 15 was worth it to have the chance to ride a good ride with some good people before hand! Can't wait for the next one...
