    Hey dudes,
I am planning on doing a lap of LA next weekend (4-day for me). Following the roads closest to the boarders of the state and camping out.

Would be cool to hook up with some of you along the way if possible. Reply to my Lap of LA thread in this forum. TIA
    Jon

    Hello Jon

Not too sure how my weekend is looking for next weekend yet? If I can get a weekend pass then I might be able to meet up somewhere. Probably won't know for sure until Wednesday or Thursday of this coming week.

In addition, as soon as I can get the new fairing replaced on my bike I'll feel a lot better about my bike's exposure out on the road during the daytime. Sux having a new bike with visible scratches. I'm expecting the fairing to arrive this week and should have that all taken care of by the middle of this week as well.

We'll see how it goes. Thanks for the invite.

Oops! Nevermind, I didn't realize at the time that this Wednesday is New Years Eve. Not sure what you're all up to for New Years Eve, but I am definitely going to try and take an early morning ride - weather permitting. Not sure where I'm going yet, but feel the need to get out on the road for a lightweight run.

Regarding the damage from a few weeks back; I received a replacement Pazzo clutch lever to replace my damaged one, so shifting is right on par again. The new lower cowl is on its way from Service Honda (Thanks for the advice Danimal), and so is the ColorRite aerosol paint package to take care of that PITA eyesore abrasion on my upper cowl.

I just got home from an evening ride. Fueled up in Metairie and then hit the Lakefront. The weather is getting really $hitty and looks like it could stay that way until Tuesday. I'd like to go grab some lunch somewhere either Tuesday or Wednesday, and sure would like to hook up with you felluz - if any of you can break away for some grub?

Good deal Danimal! Those Pazzos are great, aren't they.

Since you live close to Lafreniere Park, I could meet up out there somewhere? Tiffin Inn? Heck, I could go for that same route our group took a few weeks ago, but return the same route - bypassing Causeway as you had suggested. Or, possibly even head into Mississippi via Hwy. 90? If not, I'm cool with staying local.

It'd be great also if we could get the rest of the group on-board. (Joe, Matt? Any newcomers?) I'm planning to be on the bike both Tuesday and Wednesday - I juzz wannuh rhyyyde. Definitely gotta take advantage of the downtime I have before business picks up in the Spring.

Hey sounds great. are you off Tuesday? I have never ridden to biloxi? Highway 90 on the vfr. rigolets-waveland-bay st louis- pass- christian-long beach-gulfport-biloxi we can come back through gulfport -kiln-poplarville-crossroads- bogalusa(where I went to hi skool)-bush-Hiway 40 - folsom-bush -slidell back through thr rigolets-French quarter-Home. a definite all day ride. If you have never ridden hiway 40 it is a great road for your bike. but you must promise not to throw it on the ground, Again!! Stopping once an hour for a leg stretch might be a good idea as well.
just a suggestion , what do you think. If you have a route you would like to ride. Just say the word and I am in.
give me a call. and we can firm up time of departure and the route .:vtr2:

That trip sounds great Danimal! And yes sir, no work tomorrow, so I can roll out. I have never been out to the Gulf Coast to see any of it's post-Katrina aftermath. I'll give you a call this evening; say around 4 pm.

(LOL!) I've trained my brain not to lay the bike on it's side like I used to do with my BMX bikes as a kid. (What am I talkin' about? I'm still a kid!) :vader:

P.S. An hourly leg-stretchin' sure isn't a bad idea either. I see a saddle upgrade in my future.

Had an excellent run today and the weather was absolutely perfect! We rolled from Metairie to the Mississippi Gulf Coast (Gulfport, Biloxi), then on through Poplarville, Kiln, MS (Brett Favre Country), and then back home to Metairie, LA.

Stopped for lunch at Hooters in Biloxi/Gulfport. To our surprise, another VFR rider showed up along with his buddy who was riding a well taken care of, older CBR1000.

Man, I've just gotta ride again this coming weekend, possibly Saturday. Danimal is leaving the country on Monday for work. If you dudes are interested taking a road trip this Saturday - let's make it happen.

Yeah the weather doesn't look promising for tomorrow. Sunday looks a little bit better but I already committed to working on the race car and possibly helping a friend work on his car.

I've been out of touch for the past two weeks because I've been studying for the GRE and I'm taking it tomorrow.

    Color Rite

Well, I won't be taking the Color Rite aerosol paint approach again. I had to learn from experience for myself. Result: The front upper cowl will be replaced with a new one. The Color Rite aerosol paint process left me very disappointed. The paint and base that I received was not even close to matching the OEM Candy Red paint. :bs:

From now on, if I ever have to use the paint repair approach, it will only be for paint chips and lite scratches using a touch-up paint pen. Anything beyond that, I'll just replace the plastics.

Sure is a great that we have Service Honda for reasonably priced OEM parts.
