    JB,

Sorry to hear that the paint did not workout.
Reds are the worst colors to try to match.
Just so you won't feel too bad. when I was putting the cover on my bike last night I pulled on the bottom of the cover to pull it down the right mirror broke. Oh well service honda is sending me a new one which I will Have to wait till I get back to put on. Be careful out there.

Leaving tomorrow AM for Singapore. be gone until Feb 4th. I''ll check the site every day while I am there.
Plan a ride for when I get back.
    Keep the rubber side down.
    Peace out

    Hey Dan.

Singapore. Cool. Hope you're not stuck on a platform the whole time.

    Take care.

    JB,

Matching matalic paint sucks. I helped my boss with his 500 SL when the drivers door was damaged. Benson replaced the door and ordered paint from Mercedes. The metal flake was a finer grade and more voluminous in the paint. Most people (incuding my boss) could not tell the difference but in the light I could see it. Benson also did a generally :bs: job on the car - paint runs, trash in the paint, scratch on the metal door sill weather stripping bracket. It took a bit of arrgument with the shop manager, and the Benson GM, to get the job to an acceptable state.

Hope your new upper works out.

    Joe

Man you're not kidding; matching metallic paint does suck. I'm ordering the upper cowl from Service Honda in the morning. Since the holidays are past us, the part should get here without as much delay.

I reviewed 'removing the upper cowl' in the Honda service manual, and it looks like replacing it shouldn't be too bad of a process - just a bunch of screws to keep track of, lights and grommets to change over, and some electrical disconnects to detach then re-attach.

Gonna try to go to 'Bike Night' this Wednesday. I can go for some more of that "Hillbilly BBQ". My neighbor and I only head out for a couple of hours or so; usually departing the house by 6:30p then arriving back home no later than 9p. Hope you dudes can fire up the bikes and meet up.

    Hey JB.

We'll try to make Wednesday night - depending on how much work kicks me in the tail Wednesday.

I'm going to go for a short ride this afternoon if anyone wants to come. I'll probably shoot down 90 towards raceland where there are some fun twisty roads. I've got some errands to run first but should probably be heading out by noon. Give me a call if you want to come 504-312-0015

I just saw that post, that sucks man! Good luck finding a replacement!

I quit riding to work as much because I was getting fed up with the crazies, and becoming a little too much of a road warrior myself.

The ride was good today, only got sprinkled on a few times. Whats up with the weather lately? Rains on the weekends, nice and sunny during the week. Doesn't the weatherman know we need to RIDE?!?!

    Howdy Jim?

Yep, Louisiana has invaded alright. Our group was rollin' out there in your neck of the woods not that long ago. It sure is great riding over there in God's Country!

We'll have to get everybody to meet up and take another trip. I'll be out of commission for a little while, but the other NOLA/BatonRouge LA viffers in the posse might be planning something.

Tell us a little more about yourself. Do you have any pics of your bike that you can post? Any other bikes you've owned, have you ever been chased by a dog chomping at your footpegs, or layed your bike over in a toll plaza, etc?

    Welcome aboard Jim!

Well, she's stripped down at Boyce Honda. Not sure how long it's going to take them to put her back together? I just hope they do it right the first time. Here's some pics I took this afternoon.

    Hi ihfree:

I just got this post. The better roads in this area are north of Lake Pontchartrain. The direct route from New Orleans is a straight 24 mine bridge over the lake. I'm just getting aquainted with the Northshore roads so I'm not much help (you're probably already past this area anway). The River Road further up the Mississippi River has some scenic areas with several Plantations. Oak Alley PLaintatin is one of the more famous ones ("Interview with a Vampire" was filmed there). Laura is another one. However, there are also several chemical plants that are not much to look at. Oak Alley is in the Vacherie, LA area on the "west" bank of the river. Further up river are several other PLaintations on the East Bank.

Hope you have a safe ride.

    Joe

Hi Joe, well it's just about done. I picked it up from Boyce last week on Thursday, and then met up with Dan on Friday for about a 150 mile trip. The bike performed very well; however, as soon as I got back into town, she started leaking coolant. So, I took her back to Boyce to get that problem cleared up while I am out of town this week. I was hoping to have her back by the weekend so that I can get in some more ride-time before Monday, but it doesn't look like that will happen because I have a damaged left side radiator.

We've all gotta take another group trip soon.

    Hope you're doing well Bro.

    -JB
