howdy all, I just put in a DynoJet kit (larger mains, 198 if i remember) and I put in a Uni airfilter. I did NOT drill out the holes in the sliders, i left them alone. I also bought a second set of stock pipes and modified them a bit. I pulled off the end cap and cut that 6" long tube down to half inch. Then I put the cap back on with rivets. All in all, the bike has woken up. Especially in the mid range. It doesnt have the cold flat spot anymore yet it also runs cooler when warmed up. I dont see the temp get as high when in traffic. The throttle feels snappier and the exhaust sounds a bit growly-er too but not louder. Im very satisfied.

    Nice....congratz!

Regarding the flat spot you mentioned before modification...there was probably something wrong with the bike before hand.

The VF500's don't have any flat spots in their powerbands....just smooth gradual power.

Really? Is there a pic somewhere of a Stock VF500 powerband?

My bike pulls steadily up to 11k.

Thanks Matt....I very rarely rev my bike that high for that reason.

Just saying that my bike pulls through out the powerband for me.
