Today @ 2:30 pm saw a white 6th gen with white rear top case on Murrieta Hot Springs Road, merged onto the 215 N, then got off on Scott Rd. I wasn't followin ya, that's just the way I go home after work!! Just wanted to say hey, the one time I drive the cage to work is the one time I see a fellow viffer on the road. Had to pick up my boy after work so had to cage it...

Saw a RWB 6th Gen today at 1320 on PA RT 32 southbound between New Hope & Washington's Crossings. Based on the jacket & helmet, I saw the same bike parked in New Hope at around 1500.

+1 I spent six hours in the saddle last weekend (was out riding for about 8 1/2 hours total time - we took a few breaks, usually after the most challenging sections, one for lunch)) running the 'gaps' in piedmont NC, and while my abs and lower back muscles were a little tired on monday, no ill effects at all (thank you Corbin :^)

    peace - pd

    p.s. i'm 42

I saw another vf500 in palo alto this evening. It was all black (custom fiarings? haha) and it was a woman driving. seemed like she wasnt all that comfortable with the bike? There was also a larger male with her on a bmw? possibly a vfr 800? but i was too overwhelmed with the sighting of another vf500 (and that i might have found someone to help me fix my bike) that i started to wave her down but was ignored =(

    WHO WAS IT?

Why can't I ever see another VFR unless I'm in my cage!?

Saw a red 4th Gen in Pocatello, ID yesterday heading North on Yellowstone Ave about 3:00 PM. He must not ride it often. I live here, and its not a large area, but I've only seen him a couple times over the last year and a half.

Also saw a white 6th gen in Logan, Utah on Sept. 5th. Heading North on Main St about 10:30 AM.

I am not trying to hijack here (this is such a different Thread anyway...almost no-one ever says "yeah, that was ME in that sighting...") but my feeling is that the level of soreness in one's back and neck has very little to do with a seat or with the ergonomics of a bike. It has everything to do with your fitness, previous injuries, etc. If one gets a decent amount of exercise and stretching one will be fine on almost any bike. Bicycling (especially a road bike) helps tremendously. But, be the average American getting little exercise and suddenly the equipment gets the blame.

Ok, soapbox duty ended...as you were, Gentlemen.

Not sore, just tired, fwiw - a six hour ride does give the torso a good workout. I agree, fitness is important. I'm walking/running 2-4 miles/day, always take the stairs, cut my own lawn, clean my own house, oh and I've been riding the hell out of my bike - 2800 miles this summer. Very active, couldn't ride at this level without being fit and otherwise in shape. This is a sport, after all :^)

I think the argument could be made equally for the ergos as well. I'm 46 with 3 bad discs. I've had one surgery on my back and one on a knee. My job is physically demanding and I am a bit out of shape. I have constant back and neck pain and moderate knee pain. When in the riding position on either of my VFR's or VTR's the pain goes away. I can even run track days as hard as my courage lets me and feel no worse afterward than after a day at work. That is unless I do some involuntary landscaping at the track. As for the track I'm not the youngest guy out there in my group and I'm far from the slowest. I can also ride 200 to 400 mi. days on the street easily. This I do quite frequently when I get the time to street ride since my riding time is at a premium due to other commitments.

Sunday morning, about 10:50, on I-81S just before the Pulaski exits, 4G like mine, soft saddlebags, backpack, looked like rider (he?she?) was touring, spotted those distinctive headlights in the sideview mirror of my Suby, gave rider a big \hang loose/ sign and a whoop as they passed me doing about 80. Rock on, dude!

    Peace - PD

    Slimey Crud

This weekend I participated in the Slimey Crud Ride. Slimey Crud has occured twice a year since the late 60s. It's a disorganized ride: The start point and end point are set (Pine Bluff, WI and Leland, WI, respectively), but the start time and end time, and the route, are up to the riders. No entrance fees, no signup, no police escort (although usually many squad cars are seen during the day).

A thousand to three thousand bikes typically participate. However I wimped out – I didn’t mingle much – I just cruised past, stopped for a smoke and did my exit cruise. The pleasant weather forecast for Sunday didn’t show up until today. :frown:

I saw a red 6Gen and a red 5Gen rider gave me a wave. As I was leaving Pine Bluff an 80s VF rode behind me for a ways. There were quite a few more sportsbikes and fewer Gold Wings in the crowd than I had seen at the Honda-sponsored charity Ride I attended in August.

So, anyone else from VFRWorld in attendance?
