I don't really get it. If people want a cbr1000 then get a cbr1000. The vfr has never been a super light sport bike. The 1200 seems more or less in line with what a stock big sport tourer should be. I care more about how it rides than any weight specs. I am leaning toward "vfr" or "vfr1200".

^^ I can see the resemblance

Crazy huh, must be the new wave of the future, has anyone noticed the direction a good part of the Japanese machine are going?? I still need to see it in person, I said the same thing about the 1000RR but in white and seating on it tells one something totally different but??? this machine doesn't grabs my attention saying a got to have one,, not even in the same looks league as a 1098 you can't tell me Honda couldn't have made it look better, what was all the pre hype about, what a couple years ago about asking us what we liked in the design, sounds like to me they had their minds made up. This years MC show should be interesting "if" it's there.. at least it looks better in White, wonder what it will sound like? Staintune you gots something in store??

Since it's halloween time, i'd vote for VFHor,
add some echo and it turn into VFhorror.

i've seen many mockup design looking better than this... geez

BUt it's an Honda, the ride should be nice for those who likes heavy bikes, and quality of build too.

I can't Vote for Shamu. I am part of the Naval Aviation Community and the Shamu moniker is designated for the inflight refueling tankers in our circles, and this thing can't afford to share what gas it does carry.....

Both of the names I like came from Nor Cal Boy. Shamu was the first and the one I like the best is Visually Fucking Ridiculous. I am gonna run with that.I do have hopes of a VFR in the future that is more of my understanding of the bikes I have chossen to call mine for 25 years. Please do not hesitate to bash my skull in for my thoughts......I am sure some of you will not.

    SHAMU ?

I'm stuggling to know what the word SHAMU means, after googleing come up with is the Sumerian name for Heaven, being Japanese Honda would be pleased with that esoteric comparison.

    " The Meaning of “shamu”

the Akkadian word shamu can have multiple meanings, depending on its original root origin. The lexical lists above presuppose a shamu that comes from the Akkadian word shama'u or shamamu, both of which mean "heaven," as in a place or portion of the sky. "

How about FBG for "Fat Bottomed Girl"?

And John451, I believe the reference is for the old movie, "Shamu, the Killer Whale".

Must have missed that one, was it related to " Free Willie " one of my wifes work friends favourite films until she saw it was about a whale?

I misquoted, bud. It was actually "Orca, The Killer Whale", but Shamu IS the name of a killer whale in a California marine park.

H'mm " Orca ", that sounds a good nick name for the VFR1200F, I especially like the bits about eating squids and being close-knit community

    " ORCA
The orca or killer whale is a toothed whale that is an efficient predator, ...The killer whale belongs to the family of dolphins and is the biggest dolphin. It is sometimes called the "wolf of the sea" because its behavior is similar to that of wolves.

Orcas are efficient hunters that eat a very diverse diet of fish , squid , sharks...

Orcas live in small pods of 6-40 whales; they are very social animals. The bonds between the close-knit members of Orca pods are strong and last for life...."

I have been calling the fugly new VFR "Porky" and "Shamoo" - I gotta admit it is kinda growing on me - just can't get use to seeing a shaft drive the VFR - sad day in VFR history.
