NC64 from Highlands to 215 can be a real pain in the ass no matter what time of day. Way too much traffic and no way around it. NC215 from 64 to the Blue Ridge is not too bad the first half of the road being very narrow and bumpy. Sparky you should give me a call and I'll give you the low down on NC281 and 107. I have a nice route to suggest.

Hey Sparky..I know I'm just a FLA boy and don't know the area like you guys do, but could we take Cherohala Skyway(165) to Tellico and then go north on (360) to Vonore to (411) then jump on hwy(72) to(129) then(28) back to the KSL. I don't know if thats a long enough ride for all of us, but it looks like its about 170 miles. Now.. I don't know the road conditions like you do, so if you guys think this is a bad route I'll shut-up and be the caboose in this long train.

that's actually a fun loop dan. i'm all over the cherohala, but instead of turning right onto 360, it's better to go a little farther on 165 and take 68n then left onto 39west to 315 (south) which turns into 30 and hooks up to 64. i'm pretty sure you'll enjoy this route a bit more. from 64, we head east to highway 68. at this point, we can head south toward 60 (north ga) or take 68 north back up thru duck/turtle town to tellico then over the cherohala again. depends on how much riding folks want to do. this is the stuff we can discuss sunday and monday night. it's all gonna be fun :thumb:

Tony, that slogan wasn't on the list for voting. Do you mean VFRWorld 2010 Southeast g2g?

As far as routes some one told me about a site that has a bunch of preplaned routes for the deal's gap area. MAD MAPS Scenic Road Trips if it helps anyone.

The google link doesn't work it just gets me to the google maps homepage. To get a link working what you have to do is click on the "Link" item in the upper right corner and a small window will popup. it'll show you a long link plus an embed code. You can just copy/paste the link to here.

I tried to get this bunch together in Jonesborough, TN a couple of years ago, but never could get anyone to settle on a date. I haven't had time to read through all 15 pages of this thread. Has a date been set? Sounds like fun to me. There are tons of great rides in the area without getting near the Dragon. I do like hanging out at the store though. You never know what kind of cool bike or car will pull up.

I think we have settled on May 31st thru June 3rd. Looks like most everyone is staying at the kickstand lodge. Man I can't wait for this event!!
