Not sure what is meant by that?

The VFR hasn't been a production racing capable bike since the VFR Gen 2 when the very excellent RC30 took over that role in 1990 and the Gen 3 and every VFR since has taken the role of a more refined do eveything well Sportstourer. My " Decepticon " poster referrence was more to do with it looked to me like a Transformer and is coming for Revenge. :ninja:

If the shaft drive works as well has been reported by the journalists then it won't be a sad day. We will have a sports tourer that works like a chain without the cleaning and adjustments that has to be made on a long trip.

For me, the shaft makes it more appealing. I've just recently been looking at getting back into riding, and my last bike (V65 Sabre) was wonderfully maintenance-free with a shaft (and with boatloads of stump-pulling torque).

I almost bought a VFR three different times, but held back because of the chain and it being only 800cc (it's hard to drop down from 1100), but I wasn't sure I wanted the ST1100/1300. I was torn. Now I'm not. This VFR1200 is looking like my next bike.

(besides, it looks like they're keeping the VFR800, at least for a couple more years)

    I call it 'someone elses"
I still can't fathom why they didn't make it an 800. a diet and more power over 8 years is not a huge task.

Just stating that the bike has a great racing heritage. The original VFR was a racbike first, streetbike second.

Well not really the VFR750 was an excellent road based sports bike that could race well against other production road bikes, Wayne Gardners 1984 v4 NSR500 was Hondas race bike of the time and what a mad thing it was to watch racing especially in the wet.

Sorry the Klingon nickname is already taken with the Gen 5, Testarossa was the Gen 4 and Origami the Gen 6.

The Gen 5 being called Klingon was long defined around VFRD and OzVFR when I bought my previous Origami in early '04. Anyway astronomers recently renamed Uranus to end that stupid joke its now called Urectum.
