Joey, the pressure regulator is more than likely the culprit, unless the pump has a collapsed line within it. i don't know if you bought a new one or used.

I replaced the fuel pressure regulator several weeks ago. In the service manual it shows that you can diagnose the fuel pump by disconnecting the fuel return tube and point it to a container. Then jump the Fuel Cut Relay switch and turn the ignition to ON and it should fill up 150cc of gas in 10 seconds. When I did that I only got 60 cc so it's obviously not giving it enough fuel.

I did a diagnosics last night on the fuel cut relay switch and it has Zero continuity and according to the service manual has to be replaced. it's cheap enough so why not.

Deez-Nuts, WTF, you're not gonna make friends here! Matt's a cool guy leave him alone. He knows that he could buy a newer bike and not have to do all the "upgrading" but he just likes the fun of tinkering with it. It can be just as fun working on the bike as well as working it hard!

Did you replace with an OEM part or did your cheap ass try to save a few bucks again by buying a hot pink one that was made in Bangladesh?

Oh no, the whole reason I joined this site was to find my new best friend. I guess I can cross Joey, Matt, and KD4YSI off the list of possible candidates.

I never said Matt wasn't cool! I simply said his grammar and spelling are terrible and he doesn’t understand the cost benefit theory. I’m willing to bet that he has $3000 to $4000 invested in that bike that is worth $2000 tops and it still doesn’t even run properly! Maybe Matt’s weekly trip to the local feed store to buy pork rinds and lottery tickets finally paid off and he won the big jackpot and doesn’t know what to do with all his money. As far as your theory about it being fun to work on bikes I agree but I also strongly support the radical theory that it is more fun riding a bike than repairing it constantly. Maybe the next time his bike fucks up he can advertise it for sale in the classified section and tell everyone he is selling it because he is getting bored with riding like someone I know.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I look forward to seeing everyone soon!!

I understand that we all have differences of opinions and differing ways we maintain our machines. We advocate and encourage and respect to state said opinions and ways. However, please try to refrain from posting comments about others peoples kids, brothers, sisters, parentage, etc. Think how you would feel if it were done to you. State your opinions, differences, etc., but try to be as civil as you can. Yes we call others names, it will happen there is no doubt and I am not here to police every time some is called a dweeb, tool, or whatever, just don't drag peoples families into it.

As for Matt's fuel pump issue, it's an older bike, I dare say a classic. It is going to cost more to maintain and he chooses to do so, as I am sure others do. Maybe he just got a bad fuel pump, maybe the issue is elsewhere. He'll get it figured out and there is probably others here who will help him in that process. Hope you get it figured out Matt.
