Yep, wheels are on. The rear brake line is all attached and bled. The placement of the reservoir for the rear shock gave me a bit of a fight but it succumbed to my tenacity. Did a ton of wet sanding today. If all goes well, I'll have some paint on her this weekend.

(But don't hold me to it!)

It was time to lay down some stripes on the panels. The sucky part is, it's nearly impossible to get a straight line by eye when you have different planes, angles, and curved surfaces. So I broke out my trusty rotary laser level, dimmed the lights and presto, perfectly straight line. I played with the tripod to get close then used the level adjustments on the laser to dial it in. My level also has a crank to raise and lower the whole thing making small height adjustments a piece of cake.

Two things Hopit....how much were the LED's and I was listening to the video of the exhaust........my girlfriend came in from the other room and said "Hell NO, I know what your thinking and the answer is no way!!!!!!!!" I wouldn't until we are out of an apartment complex. that would be crazy loud at 7 AM on my way to school.... LOVE the sound of the V4...anyway, look like she is coming together nicely, lets hope to see the next video of her with you in the saddle going for a spin...

when you say dual filament wiring...are you talking about the stock wiring for the stop and tail lights? or am I missing something? Are you using one for the running and one for the brake? if so that should be fairly easy to figure out ....right? or am I simplifying it and not understanding? causre it wouldn't be the first time......

Very nice. Great use of a great tool.

Are the stripes from Tapeworks as well?

fack me. There probably isn't 5 people in a hundred with the skills for this build. And of those 5, three of them wouldn't have the patience to see it thru to perfection like this.

    Keep up the good work.

    Great work!

Have you thought about getting a brake light modulator for your brake light LED's?

I had LED brake lights on my old VF500 and the difference between them being on when the bike was running and them getting brighter when the brakes were applied wasn't very great.

I installed a modulator that when the brakes were applied it would make the brake lights flash 10 times per second for 2 seconds, before going solid. Enough to get the attention of anyone behind you (to help prevent rear-ending).....but not enough to upset any Police Officers, or cause seizures.

    Just throwing that out there.

    LOL.

Yes I have and it's not out of the question in the future. All LED's are not created equally, some are brighter than others. Either way, anything that can grab a cager's attention is a good thing and a modulator can be a smart move.

5x5. Are you masking the stripes, using the laser as a guide, and then taking the fairing panels off to paint?

:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin: I figure I'll hang onto the 7 functioning brain cells I have left. I rigged up an outside positive air supply to an existing respirator. After all the priming/sealing/painting, nary a paint odor was detected. I've discovered that there is no way to paint indoors without one.
