If you mean Colin Edwards on the RVT Honda, 2000 Suzuka 8 hours race...what's my prize for winning?

The thing about the 1000's for the American riders, is size. When they moved to 800's, Nicky suffered, because of his size and riding style. His move to Duc was as much about the size of the bike as anything else, because the ergonomics of the Duc was the most "roomy" of the 800's. There was an interview out there where he discussed this. So he'll be happier when they go to 1000's. BUT, there is also a wild card coming in 2012, that's the "spec engine" CRT (Claiming Rules Teams), which will change things up again.

I think Rossi wants to do it again; just what he did with Yamaha; get on that Duc, and win in his first year. I think he's motivated for that. I think he wants a place in history, I think he wants the GOAT title, and doesn't want it disputed. I think he'll push for no. 1. I don't know if the bike will be ready for that. But, as I said earlier, his development craft is second to none, so I wouldn't be against him.

I think the Aliens will be joined by Spies and Hayden, I think Simo will be pushing, but I don't know if he's there yet. I think it's a good bet that with the Aliens and those three, you have a good bet for top 7, but the real world usually throws a curve ball or two, and injuries/sickness/real life have ways of messing up everything. There are so many variables NOT directly involved with what happens on the the track, how that pack finishes, will be up in the air. Remember the motocross training accident that had an injured rider for half the season, that happened before the season started? A couple years ago another was hurt during the break on a SuperMoto exhibition race?

I also think Elias has a chance of upsetting the apple cart, cause I think he's got a chip on his shoulder; not that he's got a bike to race for the lead every race, but he may poke in there from time to time, ala Spies last year.

The riding style one keeps hearing when speaking of Hayden has to do with sliding the bike around and judging grip limits under power. The old days of that alone being the skill complemented by the fearlessness to do it as the most important factors in winning are pretty much over, electronics have changed that. Now it's about braking last and pushing it up out of the corner, or, depending on the circuit, carrying corner speed. Vale excels at braking but it comes at a price physically specifically shoulder strength. If bike size were a huge issue Simoncelli would never have made it out of 125cc class.

Claiming rules as they are currently written seem to me to be more about keeping the Big Three manufacturers from creating teams that appear to be satellite teams but are in effect extra factory teams running under looser rules.

The best would be to leave the electronic, back to basic racing. Best rider win , best bike win !

Sorry but taking that logic to it's absurd length, we'd be still seeing racers running carbs and drum brakes. Racing is about innovation and if you can adapt.

There's nothing wrong with good carbs, Even Rossi and Hayden stated that it would be better racing, with less electronic, Launch control, traction control, wheelie control.

Rossi is also calling the new Duc a "proper prototype" meaning not a variation based on current racers or production models. It seems rather repetitive to have the same complaint again and again about electronics and rider aids. The fact remains, this is what racing is now and its not going to go back. Better racing from a fan viewpoint means fairing banging ballsy passes ala last yrs little set to late in the season between Rossi and Lorenzo. Better racing from a riders viewpoint means either a situation where I can do something you cant, or, my bike can run away from yours.

No offense brother, but you can keep your carbs.

    I'll buy you lunch.

Funny in one of the cycle mags that ? was asked and they had to correct it in the following month to read Hayden, when in fact it was Edwards all along.

its kinda funny that Elias went to moto 2, he had the best season in that class.
I never seen one rider come from the back of the pack to win or podium so many times.
I hope he does well on his return to moto gp. Who will tony be riding for this season?

Max is teaming up with Leon Camier , as last year, Nitro Nori is riding an Aprillia , but for another team, so we will have some fighting SBK this year

Haga on an Aprilia will be fun, and hopefully more competitive than last year. Should also be interesting to find out what becomes of the Ducati's without any factory support in WSBK.

my bad, I assumed when I read the story ( they did not say what team ) it was Haga on a factory ride.
Max and Haga on the same team would have been great to watch.
The 1198 is a bit long in the tooth, wonder what Duc will come out w/ next????
