Ok People, now I have your attention, please lend me your ears!
Cape town does not suck, in fact Cape Town rocks. 30 Minutes away from the worlds greatest choice of twisties ever and no Efing snow. Those of you whom have been following the big boys (All hail o great posters on this site) will know snow is the greatest evil of all times and agree that global warming may in fact not be such a bad thing after all!
    Sorry, I’m digressing.
Ok, so fellow Capies and comrades around the country, how about we really join forces and become a community to be taken notice of!?
My riding buddies own such things as ZX14’s and Birds, whatever those are, and each seem to have some or other forum, locally in ZA, where they team up with other miss informed people to justify their purchases. Meanwhile, us obviously better informed VFR connoisseurs seem to be left out in the dark to fend for ourselves.
My suggestion is to firstly, get all the Cape Town okes to get together some time to get a brotherhood of VFR lovers started and then to join forces to spread the gospel to the remainder of our beloved motherland! Viva! Aweto! Amandla!
What you think? Have I got an idea here or is this just a case of beer getting the better of me?

Constructive criticism welcome, all other types, please Ef off!

Some constructive criticism, I used to organize group rides on this site and I've found you can get a better following if you go ahead and post a ride date and meet up spot. Without a concrete date/plan people are not likely to join up and it's hard to coordinate some kind of event.

yeah, I agree with what he said. I have met several people on here, but you have to be persistent to get rides going... I also recommend holding a yearly BBQ in the middle of the best twisties around.

As a born and raised Northern boy hailing from the Frozen Wastelands of Wisconsin I can tell you you've got it all wrong my friend.
It was 7 degrees below zero this morning with a wind chill factor of 25 to 35 degrees below zero when I left to go to work at 6AM.
My friend you haven't really lived until you've taken a few good deep breaths of fresh clean piercing air like that first thing in the morning. Whoo-boy,talk about feeling alive!

And snow the greatest evil of all times......... nope, not a chance.
It can actually be some pretty useful stuff.

For instance it's great for building snowmen.......

    Making cool snow forts.......:bounce:

    Or snow angels....... :heh:

And gosh darn it,it even comes in pretty handy for snowball fights too. :spit:

And Holy Smokes Mike,Google it up for yourself, chicks REALLY dig the snow.

    I'm with you Mike.

Just this morning I was walking down from my studio in Shortmarket street (to get coffee at Deluxe) & I passed this black bike in Longmarket Street. When I actually looked at the bike, for a moment thought someone had moved/stolen my bike! Someone has an identical twin VFR750F BLACK like mine! I asked around the nearby shops if they knew who the owner was, but nobody really did. So if by any long shot chance, you're the owner of a black Honda 750F in Cape Town and park outside Eco Coffee (I think thats what its called), please get hold of me!

    I digress too.

Mike, I'm down for a ride anytime. As long as I'm not shooting (working) I'll go ride. :)

    VFR meet

    Hi
I suggest you (or me) put an ad on Gumtree stating the idea, the bikes allowed, the place and date and the route. Meet somewhere like a pub such as the Big Barrel or Guzzlers or the Kimberly Hotel etc and we ride around the coast to begin with. No racing, no hero's. 750 to 1200's, we don't need kids there on NC's (nancy's).
I did this with an XT run and got more than 2500 hits and more than 50 replies.

Hi, would be great except for 1 small problem that I have. A brekkie run for me would be tough on the rear. I'm 1850 kms from your domicile. Benoni Gauteng to be exact.
A pity a s I would love to join in a couple of rides. We also have pretty good runs up here west Harties is good, east Sabie is brilliant, north, from me anyway, Cullinan has a couple of shorties but good runs. South, Vaal dam and barrage are also interesting.

Hello mike where are you in SA you in Cape Town. I drove from Cape Town to JOBARG, wow that was in a pick up truck it was a long trip but in Canada that isnt really long cuz a 10 hour trip anywhere is normal. I may rent a bike to try a ride over there next year, We did the garden trail, turned left to the north into mountains thats where id like to twist the throtle Her we can hit it for 1,10,20 km without tickets really flat in places. VFR not a great long run bike that 4sure..

I'm in Benoni Gauteng. Definitely too far to ride to Cape Town.
I've done 450 Ks in a day and I don't think I would go much further than that.
