I have an 8 spoke rim for the back and I am looking to get my front and rear rims re-painted.

I am interested in your suggestions as to which colour I go.

My bike at present is fairly plain which I like and I am looking for a colour to really enhance the look of the bike.

I have investigated chroming options and they are too expensive.

I have decided to go 2 pack paint. What do you think is a good colour? I'll consider most options except pink.

If you have any pics they would be great as well..

I color matched the rims, frame, and fork lowers on my little '95 Ducati 900SS Pap. It turned out pretty nice and I get a lot of compliments on it.

That beautiful Blue paint on your bike looks like it should be just about dark enough to hide dirt and brake dust fairly well. A very high gloss Black or Silver would look nice too.

It's a shame you're not open to the possibility of Pink on those rims Pap,because it just so happens that I have an entire quart of Fuschia (Pink) frame paint leftover from my Jokermobile. :heh:
I bought that quart of paint as a joke because my buddy Pez absolutely FLAT REFUSED to paint any Pink on the bike.

I can see why you get compliments. Its a very nice supersport. I prefer that model to the newer style with the ballbuster tank..

I have been considering silver / gold /deep dark red

Thanks for the input and pic :)

The 91 color was called Summer Blonde Metallic, a soft gold. I always thought it would look nice with a blue.

My main aversion to white is how much they will show up grime and brake dust.

I know a guy who powdercoated his red 5th gen wheels silver, it looked ok. I personally like black, it looks good with the blue.

I'm thinking a high gloss black or something in the silver family (ala 'Stosh's suggestions). Personally, I have yet to see a set of bronze wheels that I like. And with your bike being blue, didn't the Boy Scouts of America used to hold a "Blue and Gold" or Blue and Bronze dinner? Something like that...

Its a great looking blue. I have no eye for the artistic, but it would seem to me that if you match the blue on the body, it takes away from the body itself. I'd rather see something that compliments the body color, rather than competes for attention against it.

this is so true. Last bike has the honda white rims, and the dirt/rust got into nooks that could never get out. Unless you had a toothbrush. And I'm not that anal about it.

One of my faves is silver rims with blue centers. They look delectable on the MV Agusta SP01 Viper and would look yummy on your VFR as well. As long as you're going the paint route, why not get a little fancy?
