Shop that knows VFRs?

Faster Motorsports has had the bike for 2 weeks now, and I'd like to move to somewhere that can give me an appointment. Faster has a good rep, and they seem like really good guys, but their process is driving me crazy. They have their shop packed with bikes and they push them in and out every day, and meantime I don't have the bike to ride. Who is that good for? I get this time of year is busy...stop saying that to me and plan a little and give me an appointment so you don't have to waste your time wheeling my bike around for two weeks. Whew...I feel better now.

 

I've used Faster in the past and I like them, but only for Dyno related tuning and exhaust. For everything else I use RPM. They're Honda certified and your bike will be ready when they say it will be ready. In fact, they won't even take the bike in until the night before, or the morning of, the service. Plus, bleeding linked brakes can be very tricky and, of course, not many people have experience with it; except better Honda service depts. Not to mention valves...

 

Ed, I'd probably just go with Havcar's recommendation. He seems to have had good luck with RPM. I actually ended up trading the '06 for a 7th Gen (!) so I no longer need the service lol! I had decided to simply take it to Fay Myers though due to proximity. I've heard lots of bad stuff about Colorado Powersports lately so I definitely decided against them.

Thanks for the input all. GuitarX, Let me know how Fay Meyers work out for you. I can walk to work form there, so idela location. Just that I've seen very mixed reviews of their service.

 

Well, since I traded the bike I don't need service on it of course but I did purchase the 3 year maintenance agreement with the 1200. I took it in a few days ago for a simple oil change and I was impressed that they discovered the bars were a little off-kilter from the front wheel and fixed it for free. I'll be taking it to them for the 600 mile service and every service after that. If they're that close to you I think they would be a fine choice for service. They're probably one of the biggest Honda dealers in the state (if not THE biggest), and they do a lot of servicing on the brand.

Makes sense. Apologies if I freaked you out on the Fay Meyers thing. It's difficult to sort out the b.s. reviews vs. the rational ones. I'll probably give Fay Meyers a shot one any future work. Hopefully there is none for a long while!

 

I look at it like this i got tools and a brain follow step 1 then step2 and 3 .thats all the guy at the dealer is doing for $12.75 a hour start out small and work your way up to vales, the honda dealer in pa charge $65.00 bucks a hours i did my oil and coolant with honda stuff for $73.00 this weekend my money is not that long i make pop-tart at kelloggs for a living i got 21k on my 2006 i would hate pay for a vale job and they tell me they move them 2/32 for all that money i did not like the new vfr1200 it rides like a ST1000 if it had a chain i would buy one
