Brent/Kris: what do you suggest for packages? My first idea was mini bottles of Grey Goose but they might not make it; what will she need that the Army does not provide?

 

That would kick A**. I can see an up-armored 3rsd Special Forces vehicle now with a VFR World sticker! I sent her a message to have her start sending info on thing her & the other soldiers in the SF unit are short on or have a hard time getting. I told her be more detailed then her last message " I need stuff."

 

Internet forums are funny; unless you actually meet other members face-to-face, you can only form impressions of them from what they write and how they present themselves.

That being said, I am sure you "gave her enough along the way". :smile:

Got to chat a bit tonite with the little hard ass. Al Qaeda teams been hitting the FOB's hourly today-tonite. Little effect aginst the SOCOM teams. But still a pain in the ass. Not much I can do from here. But I sai what I could and came to mind.

Using Facebook (of all things) the kids in 3rd SF are able to send short messages home. Some brilliant 18E (SF Commo SGT's) were able to use field equipment to post online, on mission. So far it's been pretty cool, wish I had that when I was in.

This message from her was not so great.

3 opperators from 3rd SF Group (Airborne), one who just slapped an SF Combat Patch on her in the field, were killed in action. Unclear on the cirumstances Mom said she seemed first upset them quickly graduated to pissed off and focused.
