I am about to purchase a Remus carbon fiber exhaust system for my 2010 Honda VFR1200, but first I have a question before I do. Do any of you know if the Remus Hexacone exhaust set up to work with the servo cable that attaches to the VFR1200's stock exhaust?

I noticed that the Akropovic exhaust system accommodates the servo cable, and I want to make sure that the Remus is ready to go for the VFR1200. Apparently, if the servo cable isn't utilized or incorporated in aftermarket exhaust installations, it will trigger an error code?

if you use an exhaust w/out a cable actuated valve, just disconnect the cable from the motor. the motor will still rotate but do nothing.. don't disconnect the servo motor from the electrical system, that will cause an error warning....since the servo motor pulls the exhaust valve closed, you can simply disconnect the cable on the stock exhaust and bypass the valve's function as i have done on mine....i really like the way it sounds now, esp.at idle...still going for the Akro slip on soon to show more of the single side swingarm

I'd also like to know if the EFI does a reasonable job of compensating for the slip-on, or is a Power Commander a must-have with a slip on on this bike?? I know my FJR didn't really need a PC because the cats were in the headpipe, so the slip-ons sounded alot better without really removing that much restriction. Looks like the cat is in the muffler on this bike, so a slip-on would be a whole lotta un-corking. Slip-ons appear to be crazy cheap for this bike. Just wondering what others experience has turned up on this.

Thank you for the quick feedback, I shark! I can't wait to get the stock exhaust off this machine. I was a little concerned that I wouldnt be able to make this work with the REMUS.

Dangerous Dave, I have seen instances Online where folks are running without PCB, Juice Box, etc.; therefore I am going to try it without at first to decide whether I should install one or not. I prefer the sound of the Remus, but it does seem as though the Akropovic is catered to this bike with the servo cable and all. Plus I notice that a lot of guys on VFRW really prefer it on the 7th Gen. I still have a couple of weeks to decide, but if I get anymore feedback on whether a Power Commander is recommended and why, I will be sure to pass on the info to you.

i think that the Akro s/o uses the cable valve set up in order to be a street legal replacement i am going with akro because i don't want to go louder..doing it mainly for looks..right now i'm running the stock pipe w/ cable detached and i love the way it sounds..as far as the ECU, the bike feels pretty lean ...i put a k&n filter in it and it made it even worse, esp in that 1st and 2nd 3k-5k zone,(pre- Z Bomb) so i took it back out.....if you go to bazazz web site, download the Z-FI Mapper software and their VFR1200 map, open the map and you can see on the graph just how much fuel has to be added to the stock map across the board to bring it up to an optimum 13:1 air/fuel ratio..it's set up pretty lean from factory ..there are dyno charts on the bazazz site also........i'm planning to install the Bazazz Z-FI with Z-afm auto tune along with the akro and putting the k&n back in ...should be done in a few weeks

Also curious if anybody has tried the Two Brothers can on the 1200? You can certainly buy them for cheap, and have the option to add the Powertip to quiet it down if it's too obnoxious. Just wondering.

I am running the 2brothers blk series carbon can. Without the power tip i found it to be very very loud. With the -7dp tip i think its just a bit louder then stock. Without the tip it was way way louder. Wake the dead loud at full throttle.

I suspected that was the case. Looks good. I love the high exit Akro, but not for double the price of a Two Bros. The difference is so subtle, I almost suspect you could take the Two Bros pipe to a muffler shop that does custom exhausts and have them tweak the angle of the mid-pipe and make it a high exit. The difference really looks subtle, but noticeable. And when you can get a Two Bros for $400, (+/- $50 depending on which end can) vs $850 - $900 for the Akro.............. It certainly makes me want to try, but first my wallet has to recover from Givi and Corbin!

That Two Brothers is the pipe I am going for. I recently narrowed it down to the Akro, but things kept coming up where I couldnt build up enough sta$h ca$h for its steep pricetag. Yesterday, I ordered a Zero Gravity Double Bubble windscree in 'smoke', after that, the pipe is next. Can't wait to get this stocker off the bike - don't know wth Honda was thinking??
Thanks for sharing the pics of the Two Brothers Black Series on your bike! Looks great!

    Is that Two Brothers the M2 V.A.L.E or a M5 V.A.L.E?

    Its the M2 valve

Two Brothers Racing M2 VALE Slip On Exhaust Honda VFR1200F 2010-11 :: MotorcycleGear.com

I got the power tip Which is the P1X from kneedraggers.

Two Brothers M Series P1x Race Pipe Power Tip -7 To -8 Db | KneeDraggers

Just a note. With out the powertip the bike was running super lean. It really stumbled bad at the top end and the flat spot in 1 and 2nd was super noticeable.
After i stuck the powertip in it seemed to run better. Course i could have had some bad gas?? That was my other theory..

Going to go with the zbomb setup. Soon as i recover from buying the exhaust and the GIVA T480 tank bag setup.

I have the Remus and the cable is disconnected. It's been on since new. My only gripe with it is that the sticker wants to come off. Mine's the Titanium version with CF end cap.

Ok, I decided to go ahead and purchase the LeoVince EVO II Factory-R Slip-On Exhaust
    Color- Titanium

If you purchase a LeoVince pipe from Motorcycle Superstore from now until May 31st, you can save an additional 5% on top of the already applied 19% or so discount by using this coupon code at checkout: M365-LeoVince

My total, including Free Shipping was $560.49

Can't wait to try this Italian blow hole out on the Red Honda Llama.

    Ok, so I went with the LeoVince' Factory - R Titanium/Carbon slip-on...

So what do I think? Not bad. Not bad at all. Has a nice growl, definitely doesn't have that inline-4 sound, but that's also not what it's connected to, so it sure has a different note. The goal here was to improve performance, but most importantly living in New Orleans you've gotta have loud pipes! These jackazz drivers need all the help they can get.

What is revealing is that the loudness of the pipe is one thing, but this bike sucks in first and second gear! This Viffer runs so damn lean - traction control my azz!

So, I am going to order the Bazzazz mod cause this is absolutely ridiculous. 1237cc's of Honda V4 should jump out of its skin! This engine must be so incredibly dumbed down, limited and restricted?

One guy on VFRW has his bike setup with a Power Commander V running the Two Bros Map, plus the same LeoVince' as mine, the Bazzazz mod, and is apparently getting much better results.

Such a shame that we have to over-modify this bike to get it to simply meet our expectations. Bummer.
