Hi I have just bought a crossrunner I always wanted a VFR but having test road one for less than an hour my wrist and neck were in agony and the fueling around town was poor. The crossrunner has fixed both these problems the FI is much smoother than my tiger 1050 I can put both feet flat on the ground and I did 230 miles yesterday without any aches or pains. Getting 50 mpg runingin without using VTEC 42 mpg thrashing around in VTEC mode. My mate has a 6gen and he is getting allot less mpg. So it seems to me Honda have addressed all the problems I had with the old VFR 800. If you want a more sporty 1000cc VFR buy a Firerblade.
A question to other crossrunner owners you mention a 4k service my service book says 8k and 16k only

Actually, the Z1000 is, IMO, the best bike Kawasaki has made in a long, long time. I really had a hard time choosing between it and the VFR. In the end I went with the VFR because I've always wanted to own a Honda and I wanted a change from I4 engines...but if anything happened to my VFR I would probably replace it with the Z1000.

As for the topic at hand, I probably wouldn't buy the Crossrunner but I would definitely buy the Crosstourer!

Although the book says 8K I have an oil & filter change and quick check over by the dealer every 4K . He charges me so little for this that personally I find it worth it for peace of mind

Thanks I think I will change the oil between services as its the same engine as the VFR and that had 4k oil changes I guess Honda have changed it due to improvements in oil technology

I know of Sqires but I have never been despite several visits to the area. My wife went there with the Hornets Nest for one of their dos.
Yes I'm a member of the forum. If you want I will contact the ADMIN and find out what the problem is
