I used bags, packs, and then I got the top box, love it more each time I ride, fast, secure, convenient and the looks grow on you too.

You have great taste in tail-bags:

...The next larger bag I know of is the Cortech "Sport Tail Bag" Cortech :: Luggage :: Sport Tail Bag

Next bigger one from there is the Saddlemen "Sport Tunnel Bag" Saddlemen Sport Tunnel Bag - RevZilla

And after that, its larger cousin, "Saddle Stow" Saddlemen TS3200 Deluxe Sport Tailbag - Cruiser Motorcycle - Motorcycle Superstore

These are the best ones that I'm aware of. ...for me, when I need more space back there for touring, I use the hard luggage (which I'm fortunate enough to have) and a waterproof bag from REI (they come in different sized) that I lash down on the passenger seat.

    Good luck!

luggage locker elite seat sak. hands down the best tailbag on the market. designed with the vfr in mind.

    Elite Seat Sak

I have one that has been used three times, with the lexel pebble finish that i'll let go for $120 + shipping.

sold the bike, that's why used only three times. no more questions.

While their functionality is undeniable, I've never warmed up to the look of a top case. I had one for my FJR, but ONLY used it if the wife and I were going to be out on the road for a week or more. Interesting thing about top cases...

Years ago, Motorcyclist Magazine did a piece about what kind of things truly KILLED the handling of a sportbike. They took a handful of bikes to Willow Springs and did all manner of things to them to see what effect it had on handling. Under-inflated tires, over-inflated tires, jacked all the suspension adjusters around in both directions, etc, etc. But the one thing they unanimously agreed killed the handling of a sportbike more than anything else they did to it, was to attach a heavy load behind the rear wheel. Kinda sounds like a trunk dunnit? For me, it's simply a last resort. That's why I bought the Givi V35 side cases. They hold a ton of stuff, diminishing my need for extra storage out back. Tail bag is a better choice IMHO, unless of course you're riding two-up, which blows that out of the water.

Sorry, just Rambling. I have two tail bags but seldom use either one.

I would totally understand how it kills handling and I would not go for a sport ride with that guy on back.

I got it so I can take my 9 year old to school, hold onto her gear and pick her up at the end of the day. I also can't go get my favorite take out during the week because traffic is so bad. On the bike, you better believe I am fetching Pho whenever I'm feeling it.

I found the tank bag from Honda to be pretty nice (B+). I like that it incorporates a tank bra to protect that pretty black paint on the tank. (I don't understand why Honda painted the easiest to scratch part of the bike black.)

Give me a shout sometime for a ride. I'm 40 minutes away in Fabulous Manch-Vegas and I love an excuse, I mean reason!, to visit the Portsmouth Brewery.

    Later!

Yeah, I can see the gauges without any issues, I am also 6'1. The Tanklock tank bag was super easy to install, took all of 2 minutes. The tail bag required a little more work, but seems to fit OK.
