Be careful with these guys from OZ. Next they'll want info about poppers. Sneaky devils.. ;)

Lots of (too many) variations to land on one specific recipe or technique or type of spud that is good, better, best ect.

These under "Broasted" as well. (baked+roasted) "Broasted" goes back further. It's a patented pressure frying method developed in the late 40's-early 50's for chicken. Had one in my hood when I was a kid. The menu included chicken, quartered Idahos done up in the mix of frying oil and schmaltz and Coca-Cola. Probably still there..

Old saying: "If you've seen one jo-jo, you ain't seen em all."

I was actually giving him a little more info on how to find out what jo jos were. I think in your Billy-ese (I really like that phrase) you lost him, so I redirected.

I seem to recall you had your own recipe for these that you once posted ??

The dudes from OZ probably have them already and just don't know what to call them..;)

Way too many recipes to pinpoint what they are exactly. I don't rememember posting a recipe. Could be I did..(??)

Most are deepfried. Pom fritte style ..or in one batch. Some spuds are going to expand in the process, some are not. Prepping seems to be mostly bisecting the spud lengthwise and again into quarters. If only large potatoes are available the quarters can be further cut into wedges bi or trisecting the quarters with angular cuts.

Not original by any means but this could be a variation:

Puncture a potato and partially cook in a nuke on both sides. Cut as above. Saute in about 1/8" olive oil (use virgin if so disposed or if for religious reasons) When browned and crisp on one exposed quarter, turn and brown other exposed quarter.

Season to taste. Salt/pepper and if available chopped fresh Rosemary, unless it's a relative SO or favorite pet named Rosemary then dont.. ;)

LOL! Had a pad in Seattle about half a mile from the Hostess Twinkie factory. Twinkie Nirvana when the wind was right.

I hope this upcoming Olympics survives. Way too much shit going on. Old Spanish fuckers running the show, dudes with tits on steroids, racist shit a mile deep, prices that only the rich can afford, the fucking terrorists, and landlords evicting tenants to rent out thier former homes hoping to make a killing. Did I read right about $600.00 bucks for tix to Moto at Laguna.. Maybe Mitt will be there..

A bunch of the fish in "Fish and McChips" is/are dogfish out of Puget Sound. Good eating if ya fix the Ph of the meat by acidulation. Sharks have no urinary tract and the urine is in the meat. Ain't that a pisser?

the Olympics could take a combination of your Jo-Jo recipe and my favorite chocolate ho-ho's and deep fry them on a stick.

The whole thing is a carnival anyway.

Let's see, we've gone from cracked fairing to grammar to goats/sheep, a quick detour into maps and GPS then on to haggis and jojos and now we're at the Olympics. I believe this is the all purpose thread.

Back to the fairing it will get here when it gets here, bike is rideable now. Just made a quick 50 mile run to the other side of the lake to my favorite meat market, buffalo pastrami (to return to food) and bbq buff ribs plus some elk jerky. I'll be getting the heli-bars on Wed along with new tires.

We do tend to ramble a bit but one thing we all agree on is that Buffalo Pastrami is the greatest thing to come along since Justin Beaver.

It is a lot like a frat house. There's a lot of sarcasm and hazing but sooner or later someone serious will be along to help you with your home eq.

good deal. Seeing you're in Montana.... It would be neat to get a VFR rendezvous in Yellowstone some year. Maybe one year when Reg isn't feeling like doing an R3 then there would be enough interest.
