So....I don't like anywhere that I can mount it. On the triple mount (an idea I like) it blocks the panel. On the tank, it does the same. There's not a good place between the panel and the screen. So, I went looking for ideas.

I went online and found a video on youtube. The guy does all kinds of stuff to his Ninja. Speakers with his ipod hooked up. Video camera, etc. But he hooked his video camera to the left mirror with velcro. So, I put the tablet up over the left mirror, sat on the bike and checked it out. What a great location! For GPS, it is very visible and out of the way. The seven inch screen is generous for a GPS, but not so big it creates a lot of wind drag to knock it off. I could even use the video camera on it from there just fine. I lose the mirror, but I always turn my head to look anyhow.

So, now I'm trying to figure out a good way to mount it so that I can remove it easily. I have a spare mount for mounting it on the car windshield. I think I'm going to start with that, add velcro and probably a safety strap in case the primary mount gives way.

    Ideas?

I have to ask - A tablet on a bike? Why?

I guess I'm more old school. While a GPS is a handy thing at times, when I get on the bike, its about riding. Forgetting about the day's troubles. Leaving the e-mail behind. Not having to answer the phone or even know who's calling. Enjoying the sound of that engine rather than Pandora. If I get lost while riding, then I'm having a good day.

And not that this matters, so just my opinion, but I think a 7 inch tablet stuck on a mirror on a bike would look tacky. Show us - If I'm wrong, I'll admit it.

Not to be rude or anything. But you seem like an accident in the making. Got any cup holders?

And for the OP, while I allways look over my shoulder too I find that only riding with one mirror, or no mirrors greatly impairs my ability to observe my surroundings as I scan my mirrors frequently. Just my take on the matter, don't sacrifice even an ounce of your own safety for a new toy.

I can't say I'm happy, happy, joy, joy about the idea, either. The problem is that it is pretty nearly impossible to get anywhere in Europe without a GPS. The tablet is larger, so it can be referenced faster (eyes off the road less). The position is better than a mount on the tank because it is closer to line of sight. I can hit a button on the tablet and it will actually show me the view behind me. I haven't checked to see how well this compares to the mirror.

How about two tablets? One mounted on each mirror. The competition for tablets is fierce. IMO you could probably save lots of money by mounting two small laptops.

Jesus. Invest in glasses and a map. All you are going to do is ruin a perfectly good tablet and cause an accident.

This is the equivalent of a redneck handing his buddy his beer and saying "watch this".

Not to sound rude..... But you are not intelligent enough to own a bicycle, let alone a motorcycle.

No need to launch the personal attacks - yet anyway.

In Colorado it would be viewed as distracted driving and a ticket would be issued.

Some of these mounts are really amazing. I wish they had been around when I mounted the 15" plasma TV to the 91 mach 1. Actually the experience of fabricating the bracket of channel iron and plastic coat hangars was kind of fun.

I am proud to say I have never gotten lost in Europe or on the way to Walmart and have never missed an Oprah re-run even in heavy traffic.

Standard GPS using Ram Mount in center stem. Leave your mirrors alone. Check GPS only after checking 360 degrees around you. I use Garmin Zumo 220. 4.3 inch screen. Still have to be very careful!!
