So since I'n currently down waiting for a new stator to arrive, I decided to put a little more effort into installing my voltage monitor. It was mounted near the battery and the wires ran all over the place and i didn't like it. So I pulled it out and removed the upper fairing so I could mount it behind the instrument cluster. After some experiments I ended up attaching it to the top of the bank angle sensor with double sided tape. I routed the wires for the LED around the cluster and installed the LED on the left side of the display so I could see it easily. Then I tied the sense wires into the harness for the headlights so I didn't have six feet of wire running back to the battery. It's all clean and tidy now.
voltmeter You mean this? Note: Left fairing at round cutout provided by Mother Honda. Analog type from boat, waterproof. Wired to relay from power block. Reads right off battery. Larry
Thats nice you don't see them often! Mine is just an idiot light that alerts me if the systme voltage drops.
