Lol You wish. Almost exactly par and has been for about 6 years. Haven't noticed that we're buying up all your property from your depressed housing market? Our higher incomes help us do that. ;)

At three grand for fixing a tipover, those higher incomes really must come in handy.. Y'all could rent those houses to your own folks when they come stateside for medical treatment. Or, for a couple of days lodging when getting their bikes fixed at better rates.

IMO that dealer saw you coming.. or spotted your wallet..;)

Insurance paid the bill, so didn't cost me a dime. ;)

That being said, sadly the cost of vehicles and parts in Canada is still substantially more than state side. Prices haven't bee adjusted to reflect the parity of the dollar. A lot of people are now purchasing their vehicles in the US and importing them to Canada. A bit of a hassle, but if you can save thousands, you'd be stupid not to.

...and your point is? Who is it that is supposed to do all this adjusting? Care to share what your deductible is or was on your bike insurance? More than a dime I would submit. Maybe you could even tell us what your premiums was and when your policy is about to expire next time around, the increase in the premium.

It wasn't that long ago that Canadian dealers were selling bikes to stateside customers. The bikes involved were faired Suzukis that were not exported to US dealers.

Do you have a detailed invoice for the three k ( Canadian) indicating labor vs parts so that a comparison can be established?

Could you share the process for purchasing a bike stateside and importing it to Canada? Claiming a savings of thousands, I would expect some of our Canadian members would be more than interested. That VAT up there is a bitch.

A few bucks could be saved by buying in Oregon where there is no sales tax or out of some counties in Washington that have lower sales taxes than others. We also have the art of negotiation and time of year when sales ebb due to weather. This of course is not what some sales dude, parts dude or service manager is going to tell anyone. Their job is to extract the maximum amount of pesos from anyone who walks in unprepared and makes up a load of BS on the fly.
