I'm new here but the last post for a San Antonio meet was months ago, and as far as a Texas meet I haven't seen one.

    YES, the state is huge.
YES, a meet like this would mean some travel to the ride itself- but this is VFR forums, not CBR. Sport TOURING XD

The above taken into consideration, is there much interest in meeting at Medina sometime this fall and making the full run?
The Three Sisters (AKA The Twisted Sisters)- Ranch Roads 335, 336,337a | Texas Motorcycle Roads and Rides | MotorcycleRoads.com

Depending on the interest and where everyone is, the initial meet location can be pulled farther toward a geocentric spot between everyone's location *Amarillo excluded XD

Lemme know what you guys think- Other states are welcome too if you can afford the gas XD

Shall the date be set for the 19th or 20th of october then? Should give plenty of time for everyone to plan

Randy can join us on this ride. We would have no problem with him coming on down. I mean since Texas is the 3rd largest state in the union,( 1st being Canada and 2nd Alaska (which we really should call Canada, Alaska Jr. except they dont love their guns as much as we do .))

The more the merrier ^^ I'll work on finding a good location to meetup. Date set for the 19th. And preference for morning or mid-day? Night would be really fun, but you loose out on the views and it's a bit risky on those roads XD

I'll be bringing my girlfriend along if my rear shock can handle my fat ass + some more ass XD

Let's meet at Pipe Creek Cafe, around 10 if you can. It'll give us a good spot to rendezvous and some rest time for those of us coming from Houston or Dallas XD It's one of the few places you can get local quail on your plate and i have ALWAYS been satisfied by them. After that, take off down Bandera to Medina/Leakey, gas up and hit the road for the full loop

    https://maps.google.com/maps?q=pipe...X&gl=us&ei=WfAzUpGADYex2AWr94E4&ved=0CJwBELYD

    Pipecreek- Meetup + food

    Medina/Leaky- gas

As far as pacing goes, I'm not the type to out-ride my braking distance so I won't be bursting though the corners, especially with le girl on the back. I love going fast, but only when i'm in control and technical riding with the three sisters usually marks my pace down a bit. Highway 16 is open game though XD.

Tip: DO NOT speed in Bandera or Medina. Police there are cray cray

Sounds good, I figure if I leave at 0700 hrs that will put me at the Cafe around 1000 - 1030 hrs including stops to stretch, drink, ect.

Concerning the pace, I am back on a bike after a few year absence so I am still shaking off the rust so to speak as far as any technical riding goes. I will be solo, but my pace will be more relaxed than carving corners especially considering I have never been to the Sisters before and am unfamiliar with them.

Count me in with an extra. October is a great month to ride.

Those of you that haven't been before are in for a surprise. We don't have many roads like this in TX.

I think I might be in. What will be the route? How long will it take? Will there be people camping or lodging somewhere before or after the ride? I'm coming from Austin but thinking about turning it into a weekend, perhaps camping somewhere or getting a room.

There is camping in Lost Maples State Park. Lost Maples State Natural Area Campsites I usually get a cheap room on the west side of San Antonio on the Connolly loop/1604 area. It's a short ride to Medina from there.

The typical loop is 337 west out of Leakey to 335 (Camp Wood)- north to Hwy 41 - east to 336 then south back to Leakey. It is about a 100 mile loop. The map Reista linked to describes it best.

IMHO, the best part of the area is 337 between Leakey and Medina - both scenic and technical - but it is outside the "loop" described above. If you come in from the east you'll see what I mean.
