Have you ever turned around to look at your bike, only to see something sitting upon it that you were totally not expecting.

I had the bikes out of the garage a couple weekends ago to do some fall cleaning and to take some photos of the kids on the bikes, at their request, and so the photo op. began. Since the camera was upstairs, my son Liam jumped at the chance to run up and grab the camera bag, and munchies, etc, etc, etc,.............. Apparently, to my surprise, he also brought down another one of our more recent additions to the family.

Meet Lizzie (when you ask a 4 and 6 year old to come up with a pet name..........from the Magic School Bus), our 4 month old bearded dragon. From the looks of it, he enjoyed the red VFR more than the silver one, likely because it was warmer. Normally he is fairly photogenic, but apparently he was a little protective of his new VFR. Either that or he didn't like the fact that there was a magpie flying around over head.

WHAT IS THE STRANGEST THING YOU HAVE EVER FOUND ON YOUR BIKE??

Time for a relaxing bath in the sun. Good for the complexion you know.

Ahhhh, the SUN, and basking time on the bike. Hmmm, this one seems a bit warmer. ME likey da red.

    Good stuff Zoom.

My office mascot is a bearded dragon. She hangs out right behind me. About 2 years old. Never did name her, so she's just "lizard".

Cool!! How big would you say yours is at 2 years old. I have seen pictures of older dragons but never actually seen a full grown one. My wife used to have an iguana at one point and he was about 5 ft long overall with about 2 1/2 ft of tail. Had heard the bearded dragons get to about 1 1/2 to 2 ft overall.

I might be wrong but I think that is the bleed screw nipple for the linked brakes. If your looking for the service manual for your bike though, check out the Specifications section of the site. You should be able to find a factory service manual there that you can download for your bike. I found a download link for the service manual for my 5th gen bike and I'm almost positive there is one there for the 6th gen bikes as well.

Took my son Liam for a ride yesterday to the top of a local park in Kelowna called Knox Mountain Provincial Park. My son's grade 1 class has a mascot named Ellie the Elephant, a little stuffed animal, and each weekend he is taken home by one of the students in the class. When they come back to school on Monday morning they get to read out loud to the class what they did with Ellie that weekend. This weekend was my son's turn to take Ellie for an adventure. Liam's choice was to take Ellie for a motorcycle ride to the top of Knox Mountain and take some pictures. He not only wrote down the sentence in Ellie's diary that he is supposed to write in, but he also wanted to add a picture. In case you can't quite see Ellie the Elephant, check the handlebar.

Aw Geee, thanks VFR Love. Hmmmmm, wait, were you making fun of me. Sooooo hard to tell sarcasm over the forums you know.

I can honestly say that most of Liam's grade 1 class thinks I'm cool, but only cause I bring him to school on the bike. Any time Liam shows at school on the back of the bike, he usually draws a crowd of other kids saying how cooooool it is that he gets to ride on a motorcycle.

Liam looks well geared, good for you Zoom. I think Ellies adventure that Liam took him on is going to be hard to trump! How was the response from the kids at school?

Here's a couple of pics I just took, so she's close to 18 inches. I put her on the postal scale, and she weighs about 14 ounces/400 grams.

The gleam in your sons eyes says it all:)

Only rides I got was a plywood seat on the back of an old Schwinn - not that I cared that much! As kids though my friend had a banana seat bike. We'd take turns sitting backwards as a passenger while our friends took us on "hell rides". =)

If our country ever falls apart and we live in a lawless apocalypse, I'm carrying a shotgun just to take out bird that poop on my ride.

Any time he shows up on the bike he is by far the most popular kid in the front of the school. The pre-school, kindergarten and grade 1 students all enter the school through the same entrance so there is usually a crowd of about 70-100 kids crowded around the door first thing in the morning. The school drop off parking is right out front of this particular door, so there is no hiding from the mob of kids even if he wants to. Once Liam gets off the back of the bike I put his helmet, jacket and gloves in the tail pack and pass him his school stuff. After that, he usually answers a lot of questions, and then invariably there are a few kids that ask to sit on the bike. I'm happy to let the kids sit on the bike, as long as the parents don't mind, since most of the time it is the pre-school and kindergarten kids that want to try the bike.

Liam's grade 1 teacher saw the picture that Liam had included with his notation in Ellie's diary and thought that the picture (the only one in there from what I saw) was a great addition and so did the rest of the kids in his class. Now they all want to go for a ride with Ellie and Liam.

Well the temps here in Kelowna dropped to 0 C (32 F) over night last night and it was fairly chilly during the day. Mu daughter Chantal innocently asked if the bikes would be ok in the garage if it got really cold. I assured her that they would be fine. Apparently Chantal and her brother Liam decided to make sure that they would be OK. Unknown to my wife and I, the kids decided to take matters in to their own hands. Gotta love the way a child's mind works. I went in to the garage this morning to plug in the battery tender on my bike and this was what I found.

Bikes Under Wrap 3.jpg Bikes Under Wrap.jpg

Since Chantal is not quite tall enough to reach the top of the tanks on the bikes, I assume Liam (who can climb like a monkey and knows he is only allowed to get on the bike by himself when it is on the center stand) was the one to cover the bikes with the blankets. He is also very neat and orderly about covering stuff up and making sure stuff is even. When I asked Chantal why they had covered the bikes up her response was,

"Liam and I thought the bikes might catch a cold, so we covered them up and gave them a stuffy so they not get lonely in the garage."
